Hide is unnecessary
As a user I do not want to be able to "hide" AND "block" profiles. I either don't want profiles to be accessible and them.having access toy profile (ergo: block them) or I can tolerate their presence. The ability to hide certain profiles (e.g. who did not show interest in me and whom I am not interested in) instead of blocking them is unnecessary, since I am able to unblock them at any given time. The disability to block them and just being able to hide them is redundant and at the moment not even functional.
Get rid of the new "hide" function. PLEASE.

But? Do you have backend insight into the difference between the two? You can also block and unblock just as in having the same ability to do so with the "hide" feature. They both have the same outcomes.... Why am I the only person who even sees this? You just can't block someone until a conversation has been initiated. But if you want to get the same effects that blocking... You just simply have to hit hide before they message you. If they message you first then you can get the same effects because them the block feature is available.
Either way you can still blockhide them.
They did not remove a feature. I'm not sure for the exact reason that compelled the differentiation?What will get the bad actors and psychos off of Grindr, or significantly made it less of a comfortable place for them while hiding behind their little keyboards---to have email verification and phone number requirement.

I couldn’t more strongly disagree. Rejection is harder to deal with for some than others and some of us can’t tolerate seeing the same guys in our feed every day knowing we are not hot enough for them. For me this hide/archive option is critically important for my mental well being. I want all guys interested or not to see my profile and be able to contact me… I want to hide guys from my profile who have not responded or are not interested..
