p look, I understand what you're saying. I agree that using a filter doesn't make you racist. But I don't think it makes you stupid. While I don't think there's anything wrong with helping to broaden people's tastes, I believe that ultimately we all decide on what turns us on. I personally can enjoy men from different ethnic backgrounds, but my 'type' does not directly involve ethnicity. Some people feel differently and don't want to be presented with a lot of guys that they are not attracted to. You've read the arguments for this request. One could argue that 'being open minded to intimacy' should include women as well. Many of us are bi. I'm sure you're not making this argument. But I hope you see my point that we all have a desire for what gets us going sexually and a service that claims to facilitate finding compatible partners should not be pandering to the 'woke' mob to the displeasure of their own customers.

When gays exclude other races by using a filter, that doesn't make them racist, it makes them closed minded. Why miss out on meeting someone because of race, why not try something new? I started off aiming for one race and now I've become attracted to all races through experience.
For those who admit they exclude some ethnicities, give a different race a try. Maybe it's a good thing there is no ethic filter in an effort to broaden people's tastes.
I admit I used the filter for specific searches because where I live there are few Asians so it would help me locate some faster. I'm white and I started off wanting blond white boys. I've changed. I am attracted to any race now. I love having more to chose from. Regularly excluding other races is not a preference, it's closed minded. My message to those who always exclude some ethnicities, it's your loss. Open up a little. My message to Grindr is don't put that filter back. There are not only racists out there but it can cause pain for vulnerable folks who do feel rejected for their race. There is no perfect answer because people will still look for only one race. I repeat, that doesn't make you racist. I think it makes you stupid. Being open minded to intimacy with more races means you are smart enough to enjoy different skin colors and body features. whether grindr has the ethnicity filter or not doesn't change the preferences of its users, who are still going to not chat to, or block, people of certain ethnicities.

And this could be worse for people of those ethnicities -- with a filter, they won't get viewed at all. but without a filter, they'll get viewed, get excited and look at who viewed them, only to then seconds or minutes later see that person has disappeared from the view list i.e., has blocked them.

I would argue that having the ethnicity filter is actually kinder and less offensive than not having it.

Please restore Ethnicity filter, it nothing has with racist, as a gay man I love Arabian guys, I talked with I guy and the only way to find him again it should be with that filter but it doesn't have anymore so please restore that, it doesn't make sense have the option to say my ethnicity and doesn't have a filter with that.

I will say this just once and i hope that everyone including the law that no matter who you are or what you do every single person has paid for sex one way or the other, example going to the movies, dinner, trips, toys or just some cash we all pay so i would rather be upfront and honest about it and let them decide how they spend their money after all we all pay for someones time so enjoy it. @dre, don't know how you came to that conclusion. It's your right to clear the cascade of people you don't want to see or are not interested in. I do this all the time and if that means I spend a bit of time doing admin I am happy with that. They became woke and thought we must all fit into the same camp. They added Trans which is some screwed up social experiment that breeds homophobia to its core members who in turn resent trans. Great idea!

They didnt remove it to be "woke" or to "bend to complaints" they removed it because if you spend more time looking on the app and blocking the hundreds of people you arent attracted to you're essentially handing them money. If you found the people you're attracted to faster you'll spend less time on the app. I just spend a couple minutes every day blocking the races and ages I'm not attracted to. Which makes me spend more time on the app not getting "some".

I guess Grindr app is becoming very sensitive and less useful.
90% of us would like to be able to choose the race and many would like to have the dick size instead of doing something about it they just ask u to post your idea which is already posted by many here with many votes. It’s 2022 u need to improve your app not make it worse

Barely any black people on in my neighborhood so even with the filter it wouldn't make much difference unless I was looking to travel. Buuut it would be nice for vacationing lol. Plus people from similar ethnical/racial backgrounds tend to have more in common so it only makes sense that a dating site would use this as a filter.

Loss of data: Nearby, Fresh, Viewers, Messages, Taps, Faves. Seems the App can't help but periodically keep destroying the data contained therein for no apparent reason, (back-ups not withstanding).

Connectivity: Periodically, swiping to refresh screens/tabs results in the Retry msg popping up over & over regardless of how many times you press Retry, it doesn't take.
It has a total zero effectiveness to restore any of the completely missing data from any of a # of tabs ranging from Nearby, Fresh, Viewers, Messages, Taps, Faves, as well as sending messeages.
Shutting down the app is insufficient as well. One must do any # of the following & hope data remains intact. Restart/Update/Uninstall App, or run updates for any of the following operating systems, Android/Samsung/PlayStore, etc., before the App returns to operating properly, with or without data being irretrievably wiped out, corrupted or needing to execute a Restore Back-up, or Data Download process.

Build a better mousetrap ... your systems have issues that need addressing. Thank you.
