    @Beeswax Business not everyone who rejects say a Chinese man on Grindr is doing it because they’re not attracted to Asians. Some people will be racist and reject for that reason.

    But NOT having the filter isn’t going to make someone fuck a Chinese man if they’re racist against Chinese men or just don’t find Chinese men sexually attractive.

    All that a filter will do is make it easier for people to do EXACTLY what they’re doing now and that’s scrolling past all the people they don’t find attractive be that old, young, fat, skinny, Asian, black, white, whatever.

    Unfortunately some people will be hysterical at what you said and think not having a sexual attraction to a type = being racist. But those deluded snowflakes should be given no part in our society any longer.

    @Alfred Phifer: your comments are good, but this is GRINDR, and the vast majority of guys that use it are there to find a fuck, not a date. And sexual attraction isn't racist, just like someone not wanting to fuck a 90yo or an 18yo is ageist, or not wanting to fuck a double amputee is discrimination against less able bodied people, or not wanting to fuck a transman is transphobic. Bring back the filter and let Grindr uses find their fucks faster.

    @Michael Gray: what about if we allow the ethnicity filter to be used by black men on Grindr, so they can filter only for the types they are attracted to. For example, I often see black men on Grindr who in their profile text are very direct and say "black guys only". Would it be ok for black men to have use of the filter? Is a black man saying "black guys only" racist do you think?

    @Michael Gray: are you attracted to 95yo men with dementia? Why not? be honest about it -- you are just ageist and ableist, right? What about women? Are you attracted to women? It's okay not to be attracted to women, but be honest, you're sexist right?

    Sexual attraction has NOTHING to do with whether you are racist or not, and that's what you're trying to say. I have ZERO sexual attraction to Chinese men, but you seem to think that's because I am racist and prejudiced against Chinese people? You are truly delusional if you think that.

    @kevin leach: you make a good point.

    whether grindr has the ethnicity filter or not doesn't change the preferences of its users, who are still going to not chat to, or block, people of certain ethnicities.

    And this could be worse for people of those ethnicities -- with a filter, they won't get viewed at all. but without a filter, they'll get viewed, get excited and look at who viewed them, only to then seconds or minutes later see that person has disappeared from the view list i.e., has blocked them.

    I would argue that having the ethnicity filter is actually kinder and less offensive than not having it.

    - That's fine. Ethnicity filter or not, it's not going to change one thing. People are still going to hook up only with people they find sexually attractive. It's not like having no ethnicity filter is going to suddenly make everyone *woke* and start fcuking people they're not attracted to LOL.

    I'll keep scrolling past people I'm not attracted to, whether that's because they look like a Tina scene queen, or because of their age, or their ethnicity, or what they're wearing or etc etc

    If you think that someone not being sexually attracted to a white person, a black person, an Asian, an hispanic, etc etc is *racist* then you Sir have well and truly lost the plot.

    By your logic, then me, as a gay male, not being attracted to women must make me a sexist and a misogynist, right? Or me not being attracted to 80yo men must make me ageist?

    Maybe we should just change society so there is equality of outcome for all gays? That way, you should proportionately have sex with people in the same proportions as their race exists within society. That means that for every 10 sexual encounters, 6 should be white guys, 1.7 should be hispanic, 1.3 should be black and 0.5 should be asian. Would you be happy to proceed on this basis? And document the whole thing, make a TikTok video about how progressive and equal you are in your sexual attractions? Yes?

    Please reinstate the ethnicity filter.

    And also create a new filter so I can filter out people who are "offended" by the ethnicity filter. Those people are clearly sad pathetic people who need help. Hell, they probably get offended by anything and everything. They need to be ignored.

    This is just insane regressive left actions. The conflation of dating/sexual preferences with race. Everything now is to do with race. If you smile at a person of color it's racist. Don't smile and it's racist. Give them a compliment and that's racist. Don't compliment them and that's racist too.

    An ethnicity filter is about letting people connect with the people they want to fuck. And let's be honest here, 90% of guys on Grindr are there to fuck. If a black guy only wants to fuck another black guy, is that racist?!? Of course not. It's a sexual preference. Just like I don't want to fuck women -- does that make me sexist?

    <------ EXACTLY! And the irony is that it ends up being totally counterproductive. They "think" they are doing the right & noble thing by removing the ethnicity filter, when it actual fact it's to the detriment of the people they think are protecting. Because those minorities are sooooo weak and easily offended and can't stand up for themselves so big Grindr needs to come along and be the saviour for them.

It's so ridiculous that Grindr think they were doing the woke thing by removing filters, but it's counterproductive: it leads to people actually finding out they're not others types, makes minorities even more isolated (they can't quickly find others like them), and it simply refuses to accept people have sexual tastes that simply cannot be equated to the stupid woke mantra of "everything is racist".

    I'm sick & tired of the prostitutes & rentboys taking over Grindr. So much wasted time -- chat for 10 minutes, swap pics then they say "I'm on here working" or "I meet for $250/hour". It is becoming ridiculous!

    So please create a prostitute/rentboy "Tribe" that they can all identify with, and then the rest of us can filter them out.

    Too many prostitutes and too many guys looking for “women” (!!!). Please URGENTLY implement a “prostitute” tribe and also a “looking for” category which is “women”. At the moment sometimes every second profile ends up being a prostitute or a guy looking looking for a “woman” on Gay app!!!???!!!
