Let us be able to clear all conversations on sender and reciever side for people that try to out you or save messages to harm your person in society. Make the screenshot function as if it were a temp photo. It should not be possible to photograph personal sexual details off the internet from a stranger. Clear it. Less drama. More room.

When I log out I lose all my chat records, whit no backup options. This is a huge problem along the lack of option to delete messages and photo for the other user.

All users should have the ability to DELETE or ARCHIVE messages at will without having to log off or delete the app.

Add an option to archive a profile,
Some profiles which one wants not to be visible in row, should be allowed to archive.
Create a new button saying archived profiles, archived profilesxwill show in archived profile box
You have buttons like
Near by
Fresh/recently joined
Explore
Add one more button
Archived profiles buttonThis will help a lot.

It would be great if there was a “delete all chats” button where you delete all chats from your device and other users’ devices (like when you block someone). Would be great for routine maintenance of chats. Could be a great option for Xtra and/or Unlimited.

It would be useful if we could archive chats with people we don't care about instead of deleting them or block them. In this way, if you go back to chat with that person, you don't waste time.
Furthermore, that chat will no longer be found among the chats that interest us. -

When I am messaging with someone they often prove to be dodgy and the more I talk the more I garner proof. Those up to no good reach a point where they may be as good as exposed and have said too much so they block you. Upon doing so all their chat with you disappears along with all evidence and their identity.
This is 100% wrong and makes Grindr a less safe place, disempowers users to make it safer and also happens to be illegal because messages in one's inbox are the property of the receiver in law just as it would be illegal for a pen-friend to steal all your correspondence from your home even if visiting.
This needs to be dealt with. I might add that the same applies to accounts that are deleted by the user or by Grindr. Deletion of received messages by those other than the recipient is a gift to the criminal and the abusers and allows them to hop from person to person with immunity know that with one click they can evade detection or even deletion of accounts.

So I have an Android phone, and back up to Google Drive daily. I want to buy an iPhone, but if I do, I won't be able to restore my chats to my new phone because Grindr only backs up to that specific cloud provider!
Grindr - please revisit the backup option so that we can restore to any device, regardless of the operating system!

Both features would be awesome. Sometimes I return home and have to delete hundreds of chats one by one. Chat Archive would solve the issue of „saving for later“ or for example I let chats open to know which I’ve chatted to in the past and if we don’t match so we won’t waste time again.

I switched from an iPhone to an Android based phone and there is no way to transfer my chat backup from the iCloud to the Google drive

Just like chat archiving in WhatsApp. Removes it from the chat screen but the conversation is still saved.
Can be searched for or accessed by clicking the user. Reappears if chatting again. -

As of right now the only way to delete past chats is to swipe left one by one and hit Delete. However, doing it for hundreds or chats might get a bit time-consuming. I suggest adding a feature to delete all chats older than X days, say.

It's also useful to keep archived conversations with people we don't want to engage with again, because it helps us remember what happened last time! But we don't want those conversations clogging up our "inbox"

This used to be in older versions but it’s beyond me why they would remove it from later updates. As anyone who uses Grindr can imagine, our inbox could easily be flooded with 50+ new message threads daily, depending on your area. We should be able to delete multiple message threads at once. Previous versions allowed the deletion of 25 threads at once. It was already monotonus enough to have to delete one thread at a time, but now to be asked “Are you sure you want to delete this?” is utterly ridiculous. This makes it very difficult to keep our inboxes uncluttered and keep track of the threads we want. Please bring this feature back, as it should just be a no brainer.

Please please please with a cherry on top. Let people with IPhones delete more than one message at a time. I see my droid hookups deleting multiple messages like a snap of a finger, well I’m still on five snaps ago.
