    No, You got this wrong.

The rule should be that when somebody blocks you they cannot do s o if they have sent you the last message without your being able to reciprocate. This will stop people sending abusive messages and instantly blocking you.

Also it will prevent those with criminal attempt being able to kill the evidence by blocking....

Indeed, when someone blocks you they should not delete your conversations with them. I had someone with clear criminal intent. He slipped because when I google a phone number he gave me I got onto his trail. However when he got wind of it he blocked me and all the evidence was wiped out. What is in my inbox is my property away but this is an area which currently favours the malicious and needs addressing.

Grindr was and is supposed to be for gay men. We were and are allowed to view 100 nearest profiles and contact them. That is fine until the MTF and FTM invasion. Now we even have women coming in and often a very high proportion of the profiles are not gay men. This means that instead being able to sift through our 100 M4M by the time we get through the clutter of Trans and women we can only see as much as half of that number. Indeed there even now appear the odd straight male looking for a trans,

The issue here is that it is depriving us of half the men we should be able to see. The solution is to either get the trans off Grindr and onto their own app or double the number of profiles we can see to 200. I don't care but something needs to be done because it's our app and they are effectively stealing a proportion of it.

There seriously needs to be an optional means of filtering out the Transgendered, the female and the non-gays.

This is primarily a gay dating site but that is not the point. The majority of use are males who are looking for males but that too is not the point.

The point is not quite that in bygone years virtually all of those using Grindr were gay male but now a very high percentage are in either varying degrees of non-gay or non-male mode, but that we are limited to only being able to view the nearest 100 or 600 profiles with the result that those who are not strictly gay are crowding out significant proportions of our entitlement. Being able to filter out those who are not man-to-man would right this anomaly without affect the Trans or their fanciers.

Bad idea. It will compel people to show a pic.

Many do not want their photos up and indeed on a location specific app that would most definitely compromise personal security. The reason people hide their faces is not just closet cases but to avoid neighbours seeing or being shown them by third parties, to avoid jealous ex's, to avoid cyber stalkers etc.... Also, many of the faceless prefer to relate intellectually as a priority before showing their faces and indeed many are good-lookers who don't want to be picked up for shallow cosmetic reasons.

If you want proof of identity just ask the person to send a face-pic posed in a certain way or go meet them in the street to check each other out.

When I am messaging with someone they often prove to be dodgy and the more I talk the more I garner proof. Those up to no good reach a point where they may be as good as exposed and have said too much so they block you. Upon doing so all their chat with you disappears along with all evidence and their identity.

This is 100% wrong and makes Grindr a less safe place, disempowers users to make it safer and also happens to be illegal because messages in one's inbox are the property of the receiver in law just as it would be illegal for a pen-friend to steal all your correspondence from your home even if visiting.

This needs to be dealt with. I might add that the same applies to accounts that are deleted by the user or by Grindr. Deletion of received messages by those other than the recipient is a gift to the criminal and the abusers and allows them to hop from person to person with immunity know that with one click they can evade detection or even deletion of accounts.

What Happened To Age Ranging? Restore It And Stop Us Wasting Each Others' Time.
My preferred age range has disappeared from my profile as has everyone else's. The result has been catastrophic. The number of people contacting me has dropped dramatically, and there has been a marked increase from those I am not interested in who are unintentionally wasting my time.
We are all wasting our time and each others' because of this. Please restore age ranging.
