Trans have their app Translr. Straight men have tinder and facebook. Women have tinder and facebook. Let’s get them off Grindr because this is for Gay men, aka men interested in men. Stop making it a free for all overrun with bots and fake accounts filling up our grids

Live group chat people on the site
Using “RN” tab of the app is not complete, for better understanding of where and who you’re meeting.. you should have the option to video chat live for at least 3mins. That could definitely skyrocket your rating… but just for gay apps, but dating apps period.

“looking for” filters
When searching under looking for you’ll get profiles that include your search along with every other listing that profile has under this category. I’d like to be able to search for one while excluding the ones I don’t want. It’s too common to find someone exclusively looking for one thing but have several looking for’s selected

Chat UI enhancements
I find it difficult to manage chats, and find it too easy to lose track of conversations and connections. My first request would be move pinned chats and maybe favorites to a new tab (between inbox and album). This way you don’t have scroll past previously pinned chats to get to the rest of the inbox. You’ll have one place to find your quality connections without compromising the utility of the inbox. Second request is to an add a filter for “mutual connection” in chat. A new filter toggle for travellers
Lately I'm spotting a lot of people in my city you are just passing through as travelers. I can tell this because they have the little airplane travel icon.
Would it be possible to add this as a toggle in the filters? My preference is to chat with local users rather than people who are just visiting.

Add Verified User System to Reduce Fake Profiles and Scams
Lately, I’ve noticed a growing number of fake or suspicious accounts on Grindr. Many of them send taps or messages but never reply, often using repeated photos or empty profiles. PolyTrack makes it hard to trust real connections and increases the risk of scams or catfishing.
Issues observed:
Too many unverified profiles are sending spam or fake messages.
Reports about fake users often take a long time to process or get no feedback.
No visible verification mark to identify real people.
Suggested improvements:
Add an optional or required photo/ID verification system.
Introduce a verified badge for real accounts.

Smart Filter Suggestions Based on Mood / Activity (Date, Chat, Explore)
Hi Grindr team & community,
I often browse Grindr for different reasons—sometimes for dating, just to chat, or discover local connections—but having to scroll through all the Granny Game profiles every time feels clunky. I’d love to see a “Mood / Activity” smart filter added, where I can pick options like “Looking to chat”, “Want to date”, “Just exploring”, or “Nearby for coffee” and let the app reorder profiles accordingly.
Questions & thoughts:
Would this make the experience smoother for casual users who don’t always want to swipe endlessly?
Do you think battery usage or backend load would increase significantly?

Bring back ethnicity filter.
You removed this when the news was full of race issues.
It’s a legitimate filter to help people find what they are looking for, not everyone prefers all types, so why clog is a grid with people who do not match?
I don’t get it. Get off the fence and serve the customers. I can go on any dating app and filter by ethnicity. It’s normal.

Get rid of all the fake trans profiles to make this app usable.
Hard to find anyone when 5/11 profiles are obviously fake and not removed after they have been reported. I would volunteer to work for free to remove them. When the same girl’s pic is used on 10+ profiles within a matter of days, you have a problem.

Use numeric input with up/down controls instead of an age slider
Change the age input from a slider to a numeric text box with increment and decrement (up/down) buttons for easier and more precise entry.
