4. Require face pics & Men only

   As an app originally intended and still almost exclusively used for and by men interested in other men, to now have scores of female profiles and transgender individuals who clearly don’t fit the crowd and stick out like ingrown toe nails, is both extremely obnoxious & moderately offensive, and also indicates that Grindr’s current owners aren’t taking their true base of customers seriously anymore, if they ever did. That they now allow people who aren’t gay or bi MEN to sign up at all is more proof of this. Furthermore, when the majority of profiles are faceless and stay that way, and refuse to share their face pics even in private chat, it makes one wonder why there’s suddenly so much fewer authentic, openly gay MEN on an app made for the same! Grindr didn’t used to be like this until it came under new ownership, and I for one don’t like how it’s become. Requiring face pictures also eliminates the issue of Gestapo pieces of garbage coming onto the app so they can collect pictures and information about specific individuals, and maybe even gay men generally, in some cases. Grindr’s ownership needs a wake up call, unless they plan to rebrand their business to target women, trannies, and fucking dirty cops (including dirtbag federal agents).

6. Error when opening app from a chat notification

   For weeks now if I tap on a new message notification then the app opens and takes me to that conversation thread, but the conversation never loads and it just says connecting at the top if I hit back and then go into the conversation again I see the correct conversation load immediately.

   If I type a message in that “ Connecting” Thread, then it stays there and his visible next time I open the app from notification, but is never sent to the recipient. It’s like there are two parallel conversation threads. One of which is broken. This behaviour seemed to begin around the time I had a message saying that you were changing the way chats were backed up.

   It’s really annoying!

11. Make app language independent from system language

    I have my phone in German and set the app's language to English in the App settings in the phone's settings (because there's no language setting in the app), now my app is in an ungodly chimaera of both German and English.

12. The past 4 months images on the profiles on the Grid do not load. I can only see them when I’m at home using my personal WiFi.

15. Unusable app!!!!!

    This app is absolutely horrendous. I can't believe I'm paying $40 a month for the unlimited version because that's the only one I prefer to use. Messages take forever to send sometimes, the red receipts don't work properly it will show that a message has been read and then turn back to delivered. Countless other bugs. I can't name them all. It is absolutely infuriating. This is the worst I have ever seen the app. It just keeps getting worse and worse. For $40 a month you should have an app with absolutely no bugs and proactively work to repair any bugs if any arise. I swear I'm going to take a trip to their headquarters in West Hollywood and give them a piece of my mind!

17. Where is Chat Backup feature and other problems

    So this app has been out for a decade+. And it’s the only app out there that has literally gotten so much bugs, glitches and just overall plan out shitty. As of right now 2-23-24 there r glitch’s and crap all over this app. From the blocking/freezing problem, the refresh problem, the laggy chat load page that jumps all over the place and is down right SLOW, the chat message icon lights up when I send a message to someone as if I have a message/replay in my in box, the fake accounts and robots that promote other sites, takes so long to show up your off line, the read notification is done ( and people actually pay for that), the chat backup option just disappeared and the list goes on and on. It’s as if whomever is running this app is a complete moron or your company just wants to go out of business. I am very disappointed in this app at this moment and wish I never spent a single dime on it. Sniffies is where it’s at. Grinder is dead ☠️🤷🏼💯😂

    I accidentally blocked a user and lost all my messages with him. I then unblocked him but the messages didn't come back. To make matters worse you have shrunk the free profiles and moved have now moved him to the extra area where I can't make contact with him. We were in the middle of getting together and sending a date and I can't reach him to explain I accidentally blocked him clearing old users. It not fair to shrink the free profiles to nothing but bottoms. And it's twice as bad you have raised the rate from 9.99 to 12.99 a week. I would have spent 10.00 but not 13+ tax to reach him. You're screwing everyone now. I'll have to find another app if I can because to load the free section with 20 something yr old btms isn't worth the time anymore

20. Messaging update extremely buggy

    I don’t know how this latest iOS update passed quality control. Clearly the chat UI was heavily overhauled, but no one noticed its usability plummet? Photos and chats now show up as blank for a second before loading, but there’s no loading animation to show that. Photos are also completely out of order now, and show random white bars when sent. Not to mention the random additional server refresh animations that make the app feel much slower. But the most annoying thing is, after sending a message to someone, your chat with them is then marked as unread until you refresh. Please rollback the old UI until these bugs are worked out!
