In the mode select chats to delete. Please add a SELECT ALL button. So we can delete all at the same time.

I would like to suggest the possibility to select multiple conversations to delete at once. Currently we have to delete one at a time, when we open Grindr App it keeps saying that the message box is full. To difficult tô delete chats.

I have to say, I lost my chats for the second time this year and it very annoying. There must be a better way to set it up so that the chats dont get lost. I don't think I'm unlike the average user and I do make a point to backup when asked. But when restored, my backup was from may 16, which is over 6 weeks ago and it restored (drum roll please) zero chats. So, I think I'm actually better than that about backing it up, but there's no good reason that loosing chats should be such a problem in the first place. This area needs some significant improvement. There is no clear reason that the chats were lost in the first place.

Stop messages from disappearing when you log out of the app and then log back in, or when you delete and reinstall the app. Instead have an option that allows for the user to decide whether all messages have to be deleted.

When a chat is deleted have a message similar to "you stopped sharing your album" notification to help with the ignoring/ghosting done on here.

We should be able to restore to older versions of chats, not just the current one we have backed up. Since Grindr has a bug that kicks you off the app and won’t let you in until you delete and reinstall the app, I’m finding myself backing up chats almost every other day, sometimes making a mistake and backing up my inbox that has nothing in it. The fact that the backup feature doesn’t let you go two backups ago isn’t fair when this wouldn’t be happening if Grindr fixed their bugs in a timely manner.

Remove and delete a chat without blocking as I may want to revisit again.

I mean it seems like you need to fix this section cuz I already put at the top. So like I said before I think that we should be able to delete multiple photos at a time. Girl who has got the time to delete dick pics one by one? No one.

Blocking is becoming a useful tool for those with malicious intent to destroy the evidence because when someone blocks you they block your messaging history and all the evidence they know it. Apart from anything else, your chat history is your property for you to keep or delete.
One of two things needs to be changed. When someone you are speaking to is deletes, removed or blocks you, your common chat history is your property and it's deletion is akin to theft, no less so than stealing and destroying someones mail. However, this illegal practice helps the perpetrator thus as happened with me but with a twist.
Over the last two weeks I have been chatted up by someone a lot younger with a faceless profile. eventually he sent his face and when I suggested he resend it with a pose he did so. It was genuine. Eventually we were chatting on Whatsapp and heading to meet. I told him I could not meet for a couple of days. .He then asked me very suddenly to meet instantly when during that period. He came over aggressively and told me he would block me if I did not. When someone threatens blocking I regard that as proof that they are not criminal etc. However I told him I could not for the next six hours and he told me if I did not meet him that day he would block me. A few hours later I realised I could meet him but I discovered he had blocked me on grindr. However, I was baffled to see he had not blocked me on Whatsapp. I messaged him six hour later to meet and he was really hassling me to hurry up to meet him. Something did not seem right. Why would he block me on Grindr but not Whatsapp? The only reason could be to delete his chat and photos from my chat there and I had a bad feeling. However, I had screenshot them. I called off thge meet I googled his phone number and tracked back to get a name from an item he put up for sale but essentially tried google image and got a hit. He had a criminal record for theft. Had I gone through with meeting he would have disposed of his phone number and be well clear.
Can we therefore ensure that when those we chat to block up or delete their messages remain intact for a reasonable period.
When blocking occurs

I have this issue as well. Would like the option of connecting my iphone instance to Google Drive, or my android instance to iCloud. Right now not being able to synch means losing track of convos when I move from my iphone to my android tablet and vice versa. Please implement this requested enhancement.

My grindr slows down my whole phone due to the size of my inbox. I wish there was a way to easily prune the conversations without deleting all of them. For instance, I would like to delete all conversations I have never sent a chat in. Or all conversations I haven’t sent a chat in during the last 3 months. Or all conversations without images. Basically just a way to filter out unwanted conversations (and maybe even taps). This would cut down on the massive amount of data grindr uses and increase the efficiency of the app without having to delete ALL conversations.

Here’s an idea. Why not make the auto chat backup actually work, and automatically backup chats when opening the app? The current ‘daily’ setting is not daily. It’s whenever Grindr thinks it’s appropriate. The app just crashed on me (oh, work on that too, pls) and my ‘daily’ chat backup has sent me back 12 days. 12 days!!!
Let me activate the auto backup, and then just do the backup EACH time I open the app. Simple, but a solution that could actually work. Instead of having a ‘daily’ setting that appears to be bi-weekly or something.
You guys are (over)charging big bucks, so at least deliver an app that has working settings.

there needs to be a clear inbox or delete all messages option! When you open grindr it says "whoa your inbox is huge" well i'd be able to solve that problem easier if i didn't have to delete each message one by one!

Create folders in the messages sections. Example could include:
1. Endless Chatters / Time Wasters
2. Very interested
3. Rude/ never respond again
4. Potentially report / catfishes
5. Not at this time, follow upThis gives me the ability to interact with previously chatted up guys in a more consistent and preferred fashion.

Ability to archive existing chats so they are not in view of current inbox.
Too many chats with great guys get lost in the mix and forgotten about.
Also don’t want to delete a chat especially if a guy is not a match or was being obnoxious (so that I don’t message them again in the future). Because if I delete the chat, then few months later I’ll have forgotten.
ARCHIVE CHATS AND/OR folders for chats!

Fix chat backup. Force stop and removing Google account and reinstalling it do not work. I'd contact Grindr directly but Grindr makes their contact info hidden.

Provide a function which clears chat history. This would make discreet users more comfortable. There could be a “clear chat” button or messages could automatically disappear like in Snapchat.
