An error occurred while saving the comment An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedBlock system is still broken. For those that pay for unlimited blocks and having profiles reappear after, you're paying for a service they aren't providing, sounds like a potential legal issue.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYes to this. Send out an e-mail upon registration that requires you to verify your e-mail. Also one account per e-mail. When Grindr bans someone, ban not just the e-mail, but the by the device ID otherwise what is the point? You wonder why it's the worst app out there with catfish, spam, and stalkers that can make a new profile in under a minute. Absolutely insane for an app in 2018.
Anonymous supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThey need to fix the block feature in general. As an Xtra member you get unlimited daily blocks, but if they have some kind of overall cap, they need to remove it, especially for paid members. I block a good dozen idiots a day and there should be no cap to that if they're unwilling to clean up and moderate their own app.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedAlso give us an option to report Repeat Profiles. In my area there are a few creeps that make new profiles a few times a week, why should I have to continually block them? One account per device, with verified email, it's not that hard.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedAlmost 12k votes and still not under review, what a surprise. They're still owned by the company run by a guy that believes marriage is only between a man and woman. It's overrun with spam bots, cat fish, underage, prostitutes, and druggies.
Cancel your subs and use other platforms.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedBest idea and still not "under review". They clearly don't care, and it'd hurt all the bots they allow to make the grid seem populated. I hope people wake up and stop paying for this so they go under.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedHow is this not at the top of their list? (we all know why)
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedHow do you roll out this ridiculous, overpriced Unlimited garbage when you still haven't figured out how to stop ALL the spam and fakes, nor have verified account creation. You shouldn't just be sold as a company, you should be disbanded. Get it together.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThey simply don't care. There's no excuse these days to how they don't have it under control. Their ability to provide moderation is an embarrassment, and they don't require a validated email or any kind of validation. I would not be surprised if they're in partnership with whomever is placing the bots, to either get a kickback, or allowing so many bots that more people upgrade to be able to block them all. Typical greedy company that pretends to care about the community.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI agree. The app is what, 10 years old? How they don't have a system in place to prevent this is completely mind boggling. They simply don't care about users, just money.
Anonymous supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThat's because Grindr simply doesn't care. A subpar "captcha" system, and the fact you don't need a valid e-mail speaks quite a bit, don't you think?
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYeah I've noticed that people you block will sometimes still show up, so either their block system is STILL broken, or people are able to "delete" their account but then reclaim it to circumvent the block, or these people are making new profiles daily because you don't need a verified email address. You have major issues right in front of your face and solutions, why don't you do anything about this, Grindr? Also I've reported them and explained why, not to mention people looking to deal drugs and I still see them around. It's a complete joke.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThose kids that are "looking for generous" are annoying, and the reason this is a BAD idea is because Grindr doesn't want to promote prostitution. If you see anyone asking for "generous" or "donations" then report them.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedExactly.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedFake profiles (whether spam/bot or someone catfishing) are a huge problem, I see it all the time and reporting them does nothing. You need to implement some kind of verification system, preferably more than just one. Start with needing a verified e-mail, one account per device, and go from there. It is very possible to get it under control, but you have no desire to do anything but collect money.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedGood luck with that, Tilghman. Google the name Matthew Herrick and see all the articles of what he went through with someone impersonating and stalking him and Grindr, despite the guy submitting 50 reports on the app and filing police reports, basically twiddled their thumbs. They don't enforce anything and they don't care about anything except making money. That's the kind of company we're supporting by using or paying for the app.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI've yet to see anything done about underage or obvious spam accounts. I get Grindr is cheap and wants to employ the minimum needed to run the app, but it's not working out for them. Do some kind of in-depth process to get some volunteer moderators out there that can help sort and push through reports to paid employees.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedIf it means cutting down on all the fakes and catfish profiles, yes put in this feature. The rest of us shouldn't have to have our time wasted by insecure people with too much time on their hands. The BS is out of control and right now that's a larger issue. If you're in an area that it's not safe to be out in, then the app wouldn't be for you. If you're worried because you're cheating on your spouse, stop being a douche; the app wouldn't be for you.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedI think another problem is Grindr has no interest in policing their own app and want to skirt by doing the bare minimum. Speak their language (money) and it might actually trigger some results with the app. Right now though, us complaining on here isn't going to solve anything. The catfish/fakes are out of control. Require a verified email address, verified picture.
Anytime I see a picture that has location disabled and it looks grainy, that's a dead giveaway and there are tons of them. Also give us an upvote/downvote so we can warn others of flakes and fakes. Not sure why gay men are so obsessed with playing games online, makes me wonder how many guys actually get any on here.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThis x1000. The number of fake profiles is incredible and they're usually very obvious, but you block them and three more appear. Users should need a verified email, as in they actually have to click a link in the email to confirm, and also one account per IMEI device. The rest of us shouldn't have to do deal with that BS because someone can't remember their password or needs to keep deleting the app because they don't want their wife finding out. It's mind-boggling how it's2018 and Grindr still hasn't figured any of this out.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedReally, this is under review? How about the suggestion with 11k votes? Verify people to cut down on all the spam, catfish, and do proper moderation of the underage, prostitutes, and druggies. How backwards are you guys?

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedYou're seriously putting this UNDER REVIEW when the status of your app is currently garbage fire? You really are hopeless. How about stop allowing bots, underage, druggies, catfish that floods your app? Or have proper account verification?

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThey should also have an option to report something like "Repeat Profile" for the people that create 5 new profiles each week because they just delete or uninstall and don't bother to use the same one. Of course Grindr doesn't care (which is why there's no validation to sign up).

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedWhen I go into my list of blocked people they all show up as being blocked in March or something crazy. It's amazing how this system stumps their developers to this day.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedHateful for speaking the truth? Okay. Good thing it's worse than the rampant ageism and racism on the app, huh? "smh"
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedSpoken like a true insecure, self-absorbed, and pretentious twink. If a message is "creepy" then simply block them. That was hard. It really is amazing what gay guys are turning into these days. I don't personally care what your age is (as long as you're legal), if I'm not interested I politely say so, and if you get salty about it you get blocked. I promise it's not hard to take less than a minute out of your extremely important life to be kind to another human being.
TL;DR: BAD idea for a feature.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedNo thanks to this idea. Don't use a face pic if you don't want people knowing about your "kinky side" and just put it in your profile to avoid that game; being upfront is better than wasting time.
One of the huge issues with bots and catfish is that any insecure loser can make a thousand profiles on the same phone and the rest of us have to deal with it and have our time wasted. Not worth it.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedThe bar example is a rather poor comparison, though I'd rather focus on the fact the guy below is telling other people not to ignore others that "tap" them, yet he goes on to say he ignores people that request you don't "tap" them. That's some interesting derp there.
My opinion on this feature request: YES. Allow people the option to toggle it on or off. It doesn't hurt anyone and offers some user-friendliness.

It'd be nice to have "Repeat Profile" as an option when reporting. Right now I just select Spam on the profiles of the creeps that make 7 new ones every week to circumvent bans or blocks. Are you guys really struggling on how to ban by IP or deviceID?
