Great idea, needs to happen to keep people safe. Other apps have it, so why are we deprived of it here? I pay for EXTRA but this feature should be freely available to everyone. Period.
Totally disagree with the poster below. Verification should be an OPTION, it doesn't need to bemandatory so those who want to stay discreet can...and those who want to make sure they are not being catfished and getting their pics stolen, or worse meeting someone who isn't who they say they are can stay safe.

I see many feature requests here marked as 'PLANNED' like 'adding kink to profile section' or 'hosting/looking now icons' and it baffles me how something like a verification feature does not exist.
It doesn't need to be mandatory, it just just to be an option to keep scammers and catfishes away and to KEEP PEOPLE SAFE. Please support and vote for this feature!
We shouldn't have to ask people to verify their identity by sending a specific picture, or being pressured to give away social media account info or phone numbers. Grindr has a responsibility to keep people safe
