An error occurred while saving the comment Tilghman Lesher commentedNo, age discrimination is not a violation of the Fourteenth Amendment. First and foremost, the Fourteenth Amendment only applies to government action. Grindr is not a government-owned entity, so it is exempt. You may be thinking of the age-related provisions of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, but those, too, would not apply, because they only apply to Employment and Public Accommodations. Neither of those apply in this case.
Normally, I wouldn't have responded, but that was just completely ridiculous.
An error occurred while saving the comment Tilghman Lesher commentedIt's a nice idea, but many people don't login at all. Even if they were forced to do so, making up a new email address is easy, too.
We're not going to fix what is a people problem with a technological solution.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tilghman Lesher commentedI love taps. Used to be that my conversation history was full of people who never responded. If I deleted the attempts to contact, they'll complain when I contacted them again. Now, I can tap them, they can tap me in response, and if we tap each other, we can start a conversation. And NO CLUTTER in my chat history.
An error occurred while saving the comment Tilghman Lesher commentedI consider taps to be a compliment, especially when you otherwise have a lot of single messages cluttering up the chat (messages which are never replied to due to people ignoring). If you tap each other, however, you can be reasonably certain that you can start and have a meaningful conversation.
Just deleting a chat is non-optimal, as you might message that person again, not seeing that you did so previously and got no reply. And THAT is also repeatedly cited as an annoyance to the receiver.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tilghman Lesher commentedIf you're facing trolls online, note that in your settings, you can elect to turn off Show My Distance. Also, Grindr intentionally fuzzes the distance randomly, so that it cannot be used to locate a specific person. And, as always, please report accounts for threatening behavior, before blocking them.

An error occurred while saving the comment Tilghman Lesher commentedYes, a flag that says that you fight Stigma and are friendly to all would be a wonderful feature.
Not everybody knows this, yet, Anonymous. Especially in middle America, we have a lot of ignorant people who have yet to be convinced of U=U.

Easy workaround for Boost: just block them.
As a side effect of this, if guys start getting blocked when they Boost, nobody will Boost anymore, and Grindr will take the hint and drop the feature.
