Proposal to enhance engagement and safety
I am writing to propose a set of enhancements that could significantly improve user safety, engagement, and overall experience on Grindr. Given the platform’s role in fostering meaningful connections, implementing transparency and accountability features can help create a safer and more enjoyable environment for all users.

Many dating and social networking apps, such as Scruff and OkCupid, provide users with insights into engagement patterns. Grindr could benefit from:

Unsend Location To All
Someone knocked on my door. Apparently I sent my location to him a while ago. I was terrified! Please, for our safety, give us users an easy way to unsend location from all chats. It's so easy to lock the Album. Location should likewise be easily lockable.

Trans women/ women/ MF couples
There needs to be a filter option to block or hide trans women/ women or MF couples.. I’m not transphobic at all. This app has always been a primarily gay men’s app and now seeing 25% women every time I open my app even if I spend most my time blocking the trans members… I personally DO NOT want to see women on my app when I’m paying 40$ a month to use the app.. Every profile tile that displays a women is a space where a gay man could be and I find it offensive that I’m even seeing…

Add option to opt in for anonymous notification of positive stds results
Enable anonymous notifications of positive stds results.
It could work like this, for example. Introduce an option to request to be notified if a given person reports a positive std result. This could be reinforced by asking the other person to agree (otherwise it could be technically possible for a person to continously monitor the std status of another person without them knowing, by regularly requesting notifications from only one person) . Improve the hide feature
The idea of the "Hide" feature is interesting, in my opinion it prevents the possibility of blocking people without reason. However, it should be improved, in fact to get the "block" back it is sufficient to put the user in the favorites, or write a simple "hi". To make the hide truly effective there should be an interaction between people (e.g., at least 5 messages exchanged), so I would at least wait for the other person to respond, otherwise it is easy to get around the idea of the hide.

Move (useless) BOOST button or move the (unavoidable) RETRY button
Currently the RETRY network button is located over the BOOST button.
RETRY useful & need to use occasionally,, (doesn't accomplish anything 95% of time). RETRY also automatically disappears at any time.
BOOST is only used by one or two people. The button and associated paid 'feature' is extremely unpopular /hated (as evidenced in this forum).
When trying to touch the RETRY button, the button can simply vanish during the process leaving and accidental click on the BOOST button. It is possible for Grindr to measure the average time between the RETRY button appearing and your response time to effectively predict…

Verify
In other apps you can click on "I know this person in reality" To verify users after you meet them. If a certain amount of users have verified one account this account can be shown as safe, the profile corresponds to the person. By implementing this the app will gain security, transparency and accuracy facilitating a better people behavior and mitigate the fake profiles.

I Would Like You to Verify Profiles
There are many fake profiles with bad intentions in the area where I live. Additionally, there is a lot of identity theft. Just as some applications verify users through facial recognition with the camera, like certain social media platforms do, it would be beneficial to have a badge for verified profiles. This way, people could feel more confident when communicating with verified accounts.

Verification Badges
Please add the option to allow users to go through a Verification process and add a “Verified” badge to their profile to confirm we are communication with a real person and not someone that is attempting to catfish. Competitors like Tinder have had this feature for years, Grindr really needs this!

If people don’t share their distance they should not be able to see any distances period
With you opt in to share distance and you can see all those that opt in or you opt out and you see no one’s distance

Stop link messages
I’m getting messages from people 1000’s of miles away with links. I never click them but block them. It’s getting very regular now.

Lots of random pictures to links, I block them straight away. I don’t know if they are scams or what?
Preview new messages and option to block. I’m not sure if when you actually open the persons message it does something or by clicking the link. They are obviously being paid if someone clicks the link.

People not showing up - Reliabilty Score
I would like the opportunity to sign up for an optional reliability score.
It could work as follows:
Create a button in chat by pressing + that says “agreed to meet”. It should then send a message to the other user that says “agree to meet?. To confirm they are both in agreement.
When Grindr detects both users within a few feet, a pop up could appear that says “it’s looks like you have connected?”
If both parties agree, it will give each a point for reliability.There could also be several additional options…from chat hitting the + button gives…

Verification
I see numerous request already on here for a verification service. I realize you have not implemented it because you fear the number of users who require anonymity will drop off but you should be more worried about the number of scam and fake profiles on here. Only one other app is worse than Grindr with these bots and scammers and they did implement a verification service that has made the site more usable. The key? Don’t make it required. People can still choose to not verify but the rest of us are over it and you should promote safety.

Allow Reporting of Blocked User
Allowing reporting of users who have blocked you in all locations and areas. This is a feature in some locations but not all.
When someone blocks you faster than you can report them because they know what they are doing violates site rules is not helping to create a better and safer site. Being able to report a user for violating site rules only allows the community to be safer. New Viewed Me feature allows people to see how many times a person has viewed their profile. Kill it.
The new Viewed Me feature that allows people to see how many times a person has viewed their profile is a bit overreaching and asking for trouble.
1) Sometimes we like to privately admire someone's profile. Tallying the number of times a person looks is WILD.
2) Viewing someone's profile is simply the act of swiping passed their profile on the grid. It's already crazy that swiping through constitutes viewing, but to now be showing the number of times someone has swiped past a profile is crazy.
3) This does effect the privacy of users. No one needs to know…

Request to involved last view feature in settings so that uses can use wisely.
A feature to be added to the settings similar to WhatsApp last view.
