Are the profiles I keep blocking, but return, just the fake profiles grindr makes?
Just wondering if grindr's fake profiles are the ones that won't stay blocked. We all know that half of the profiles are not real people. When we block them, could they stay blocked? It is pretty obvious with how fake they are. Almost as if our profiles tell grindr exactly what fake profiles we want to see. Please, for the love of god, just keep them blocked. The app is almost unusable the way it is now.

Grindr created them, so they are duplicated many times over, with same fake pics. Created using AI, will keep coming back

Grindr’s permanent block/banned doesn’t work. They somehow trick the app into allowing a new profile and are usually back within hours of being kicked from the app. Scruff does a good job making permanent actually more permanent. In general though, I prefer Grindr though over scruff.

I absolutely agree! Totally unusable in its current forms allowing fake profiles to proliferate daily as an exponential rate!

To John,
Who told you or where did you read that the block failure is due to a bug in the app?
Grindr has always said there is limited blocking for free and X-tra members. They have quietly removed all mention of unlimited blocking for unlimited members. This doesn’t seem like a bug to us but a change in services provided. This goes back to 2020 during the pandemic, they reduced unlimited members to 10K in blocks provided. Since they didn’t offer any reasons or a new plan that allowed unlimited blocking, what’s the reason? Two years for a bug to be fixed doesn’t make sense. System can’t keep up with blocks? Probably the later here. Remember…this coincides with pandemic rise in use and when the many non gay or non M4M membership rocketed. Blocks were all we had at our fingertips since filters didn’t work or didn’t exist for everyone’s tastes.
Im really curious to hear back from you on this.
