Boost is BULLSHIT
The new Boost feature is utter bullshit. People pay a few to appear at the top of other people's grids? Okay... so they're paying to take up space on the grid that could be occupied by other people who are closer? That's utter shit.
If you don't pay for xtra or unlimited, you only have a certain number of available people on the grid anyway so having them taken up by people who are 3 miles away is shit. But then if you ARE paying for Grindr, it's also out of order that just because somebody paid a tiny fee to appear at the top of your grindr grid, then your experience is now marred by these people who are MILES away. Grindr, fix this. It's annoying AF.

Today was the first time that I log on to Grindr. Been absent for a few days … all of a sudden saw the new function “Boost” … 99cents per Boost…
The first thing came to mind was “Bull Sh@t”… I am embarrassed for the Grindr Team… shameless money grab… after the A la carte membership tiers … I have no complaints rather pay more to get more functions, therefore, paid for the unlimited memberships for years… however, the unlimited membership benefits were just that never changed … so the service did not get better … Now; Grindr think of money grab idea of “Boost”… to get more views…. Didn’t you listed the same benefits for unlimited membership is to get more views… so now you want us to pay more to get the benefit you company promised us for? You dare to double dip….? Shameful Money grab… you are too lazy to develop other functions … and who is the genius to think of the “Boost” idea… ? -

Either remove Boost entirely or give users the option to turn it off. Grindr’s idea if “close” is ridiculously way off for this city. Someone boosted was 4 miles away, that’s over an hour commute here - so this boosted person is clogging up my cascade, and the likelihood of actually meeting this person is 100% impossible.

There should be an option to remove boost access or visibility for Grindr unlimited users.
I pay a hefty premium to avoid seeing ads! The boost option/button displayed on the settings page and atop the “viewed me list” is off-putting, especially since I know I will NEVER use this feature, nor will I spend anymore money than I already do!
Puts a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and I am reconsidering renewing my yearly subscription if this option is not removed by then!

Offer an option to boost your profiles visibility or have your profile featured within, let’s say, the surrounding 10 or 20 miles. In many medium sized cities guys live miles apart from each other. For example, the guys who I want to see my profile may be in the city center which is a 5 mile drive from my house. Unless they have Xtra, they may never see me. I suggest giving a “Boost” option. Maybe even charge .99 cents for each time you “Boost”. Right now, the way guys are getting around this is by deleting and recreating profiles so their picture will be shown at the top in New Faces. With all due respect, I think Featured Profile would do much better than New Faces. Please implement boost or featured profiles tool in the app.
