Boost is a theft at finest

Grindr extra and now I’m seeing guys on top of my grid who are not even close

Easy workaround for Boost: just block them.

As a side effect of this, if guys start getting blocked when they Boost, nobody will Boost anymore, and Grindr will take the hint and drop the feature.

I am getting fed up with boost appearing all the time and then taking to the top of the nearby screen, everytime, I can't get rid of it, no matter what I dout just keeps on coming up. Please delete it or I will have to delete as I just don't have the time to waste on it anymore.

When they have the distance function deactivated you end up chatting to someone to only found out later that they are Kilometers away. It’s really a shitty move for people who pay for the app - which isn’t by the way cheap at all. Get rid of this please!!

$39.99 a month for unlimited and we need to see a bombardment of this stupid boost feature as if the unlimited price is already expensive. No ads should mean no ads from Grindr too.

I just spent over 20 minutes writing out two notifications and both vanished after I did it it asked me for the verify my email as soon as I did that everything was gone.
So I'm going to make this brief, I was on your site for a very long time if you look at my account you'll see that here in Michigan and in Florida.
I just spent $2.99 for a 1 hour boost.
But even with the boost I couldn't reply to people in my inbox or who tapped me so it was useless all I could do was see the people well if I can't respond to him or get a hold of him what's the good of that.
You should let people know right up front before they spend money what the site doesn't doesn't do. Then you should also give something up front to make people want to pay the money on your site you make it very hard to get a hold of people that look at you or tap you almost every other one that makes you want to sign up and spend money. That's putting the cart in front of the horse I stopped using squirt because they're awful it's one of the worst websites I've ever seen but they do the same thing.
You're asking people for money without providing a service up front to show value in spending the money.
I had people tonight try to get a hold of me and I couldn't get back to them.
So I believe signing up for the boost for the hour allow me to do that doesn't say it doesn't or wouldn't but it does not it's not a lot of money but I never use the feature I'd like the $2.99 credit to my account and I'll use it in the future.
And show people what the site can do let them talk to people back and forth for a couple of days and then charge them money.
By myself will never spend a dime on the site until things are corrected.
I read a lot of the reviews and there are many many of them that are exactly the same as what I'm saying so I would think that you guys would take heed to your clients and try to improve the interactions between the clients and your website.

I'm sure nothing will come of this but doesn't hurt to try.

What's the old saying you can skin a sheep once or share it many many times. So obviously want people to be around for years keep spending the money so you can share them and not skin them up front to make sure they don't want to use your site or spend any money.

Sometimes you'll pay and it works fine, sometimes you pay and it does nothing. It is VERY obvious when it's working because there'll be an instant influx of views. It seems like a ripoff that it doesn't always work and it also might be borderline illegal for you to ask money for a service that you're not providing.

With extra you would think looking st whos viewed me. Cause boosts is 10$ and I bombed with massive taps an messages from people that done read my profile. Kinda annoying

Boost is just a greedy money making scheme dreamt up by Grindr. It's in complete contradiction to the Explore function. Now when I search an area I'm going to visit I end up seeing profiles from guys who are nowhere near there. Why am I paying for Unlimited just be greeted by guys at the top of my grid who are miles away?. Come on Grindr, come up with some other money grabbing idea that doesn't spoil the use of the app for others.

I think boost is a great idea but it’s expensive too. I’ve had a few hits on there. Can you give incentives in price reduction for discounts or something as many times as you’ve ordered it to make user want to use the feature more?

Right. It is bullshit. I'm an unlimited member. So the $30 I pay each month doesn't include this feature? That's horse shit! Here's a great way to get yourself boosted. Change one of your photos. Then puts you in the "Fresh" section for a while and you will get a lot of profile views (if guys find you interesting). I do that a lot. I change a photo and then all of a sudden I start getting more views, more taps and more messages without paying another $10.

Totally agree. Thought it strange that the 1st square is taken by someone 9km away and not on my doorstep. I cannot imagine why anyone would pay extra for this seriously flawed service. I pay the monthly Xtra subscription, but will be canceling it soon unless this nonsense desists.

Please stop boosting if I want to see Randy Rainbow all day I’ll look at his insta. It’s beyond annoying to see a grid with guys not close and not cute who can afford to boost. Find a work around cause I know you won’t lose the revenue stream.

People paying for the app should absolutely have the option to remove boosted profiles!! This is terrible marketing.

I see the option to buy profile boost for $9.99 but I can’t click on it. I was in the beta program but removed myself to see if that was maybe why, and it still is there and unable to be clicked. Deleted and redownloaded the app and it’s now only in the viewed me area but I still can’t click it. I saw it wasn’t in all areas but I assume the button is since I can see it so making it available in nyc would be cool

Boosts are being very annoying on the app. People that are more than 5km away keep appearing to me, and I cant see people who are close. On the initial page (the first 12 profiles), 40% is from people using boost right now.

That is when tinder went down, when they started to algorythimize the people you can see and charge for that. It drops the chance of being seen/seeing other people you are interested on that do not pay and people stop using it.

Please go back to the default ordering and leave boosts on another tab, for example the "New" tab

While it sounds like a great feature, the Boost is actually getting a bit annoying and being used by people to catfish and lie about their distance. It would be nice if we can filter out the visibility of Boosts or mark them with a symbol, so that we know they are the Boosted ones.

Having a feature to disable profiles that are boosted, showing up on my grid as most of them are 7/8 miles away. Nearby profile pushed down on the grid making it harder to navigate through it.
