Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

If someone doesn’t want to meet with a white/black/Asian etc person they won’t meet with them, providing an ethnicity filter simply means it will make it easier for people to find what they are looking for

Why must I have to search through profiles of men I have no interest in? It makes no sense and how is that racist? I like who I like and if someone doesn't want to meet a married white guy, so be it. Next! I'm so tired of this woke society!

Ethnicity filter is a tool and it all depends on how one uses it. Like voice, hands or baseball bats.
Talking to another person in a calm and respectful manner will be different than screaming to him/her. Still the tool remains the same - voice.
Using hands to create something, to prepare food will be different than using them to hit or harm someone. Still the tool remains the same - hands.
Playing baseball and hitting balls with baseball bat is sports and fun. But using baseball bat to hit another person, to break windows is horrible! Still the tool remain the same - baseball bat.
Therefore filter of any kind can be used in a correct and incorrect way, but it does not mean it should not be accessible. It means that its use should monitored for breaches and the way one uses it in a correct way properly defined in TERMS OF USE to which users must agree, if they want to continue.
Therefore, I kindly ask you to BEING BACK ETHNICITY FILTER which can not only make the GRINDR experience more pleasant, but first and foremost allow many on the application to connect in a joyful way, find their soulmates or friends in similar environments around the world and very often even simply somebody who understands them like no one around.
Finally, it respects also freedom of choice and freedom of one’s preferences. Gay community fights with limitations. Why then GRINDR should be making any? Thanks a lot in advance,

Please bring it back. I’m Hispanic and don’t have much luck with white men. Being in the US I have to sift through a bunch of white rejections to find my own people or other minorities who are interested. I just want to be able to get to the people who have a more similar culture and get me more, faster.

The whole removal of the ethnicity filter really is one of the more stupid ideas and updates that have been made. Having the ethnicity filter makes it easier when searching. People will still be filtering but just by blocking the profiles of the ethnicity they don’t want appearing. Why won’t Grindr just make everyone’s life so much easier and reinstate it.

Removing the ethnicity filter is insane. As a white man in a majority white country who prefers men of colour, it is now harder for me to find the men I like.
Grindr were wrong to pander to a hysterical minority when the vast majority of intelligent and emotionally balanced people understand that there is nothing racist about having dating preferences for different races.

After 12 months of this insanity — and of putting up with worse racism as a result of the filter being removed — can you folks at grindr get down off your high horses, admit you made a mistake and restore this functionality please. You’re literally making a bad problem worse

This is just insane regressive left actions. The conflation of dating/sexual preferences with race. Everything now is to do with race. If you smile at a person of color it's racist. Don't smile and it's racist. Give them a compliment and that's racist. Don't compliment them and that's racist too.
An ethnicity filter is about letting people connect with the people they want to fuck. And let's be honest here, 90% of guys on Grindr are there to fuck. If a black guy only wants to fuck another black guy, is that racist?!? Of course not. It's a sexual preference. Just like I don't want to fuck women -- does that make me sexist?

When you have personal preference, it matters the circle you choose to be with. Ethnicities have nothing to do with race, its about cultural differences. Dating apps wont help us much when matching us with the people we won’t go far with. Please bring back the Ethnicity Filter.

Okay somehow this has turned into idiotic politics. Left or right doesn't determine if you're racist or not. People really should learn what left and right means in politics before trying to use it.
As for the filter protecting or attacking anyone whether it exists or not, it does neither. Having the filter removed didn't "protect" against racism.. it literally made it worse. Having it wasn't racist either since all it did was allow people to find what they're attracted to.
The people saying the filter should exist so races can find their own race is just idiotic and racist.. the majority of people want the filter so they can only see who they are attracted to. I'm a white male that is particularly attracted to asian males. That's not racist it's just my sexual preference. They don't HAVE to be asian, but that's what I'm most attracted to. There's black people attracted to white people, asians attracted to black people, and so on. None of that is racist. It's not even racist to filter people out based on race. I'm not hating black people by not wanting to see them on dating app. The people that see it as racist are racist themselves and trying to project their racism onto others to look more high and mighty.
Basically having the filter wasn't racist. Removing it however was racist since it's trying to force everyone to love everyone. Like you're not allowed to have a choice anymore because *choice* is somehow racist.

<------ EXACTLY! And the irony is that it ends up being totally counterproductive. They "think" they are doing the right & noble thing by removing the ethnicity filter, when it actual fact it's to the detriment of the people they think are protecting. Because those minorities are sooooo weak and easily offended and can't stand up for themselves so big Grindr needs to come along and be the saviour for them.
