Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

Yes I totally agree this should be added back. What the heck does Grindr care about this retarded politically correct where we live in?
I am no racist but I hate the fact that racism is used as a tool for people to get what they want. There's nothing wrong with specifically looking for a black man you want to know why because I enjoy having sex with them. So nothing racist there.
The moment company's stop caving into this cancel culture b******* the world will become a better place

A filter is just that.
Some members seek a type by ethnicity, others "SELF DISQUALIFY" if they don't feel that they are a candidate for the profile they click on.
Meaning, anyone should be able to hit you up, but searching can be more productive by specificity.
If not interested, perhaps a "NO THANK YOU" tap, can be added. -

There is a huge difference between having a physical preference and thinking one is superior. I can filter for weight, age, height, body type and hair which are just physical types. Filtering for race is no different. Its just a physical preference. I yiu can always choose to not fill in that category.

I have the right to choose a mate based on my own preferences, in my opinion you are enforcing racism by not allowing us to choose.
I'll thus continue to block everyone who doesn't fit my type, and yes sometimes that means I will now sit for a few hours blocking people just to get access to people who actually fit my preferences. I dont like blocking people from different races, I hate it actually. And even worse, I hate having to turn down people from other races. You're making me feel like an ass for doing so. Stop populating my grindr feed with people I'm not interested in, we have the right to choose and you're defeating the entire point of a dating app by forcing us to be exposed to people we'll never be interested in -

My Name is Maxx. This is a very telling conversation going on here… I feel it digresses into unnecessary areas that have nothing to do with basic personal sexual Preferences….of course BRING BACK THE FILTER it’s a no brainer… THATS WHY GRINDR HAD IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I walk into a restaurant I look at the menu I order what I want. I don’t sit at a table and tell them to bring me whatever they feel I should eat… When I order a pizza I get the kind of Meat on it I want (metaphor intended). “ I am sorry sir I can’t promise you’ll be getting sausage because we don’t want to offend the anchovies and the pepperonis and the ground beef”. Silly of course…. Thats the point. When I go to the local bar do I sit down and say surprise me? (OK maybe on occasion when I feel like it.. MY choice) but 90% of the time I know exactly what kind of alcohol and what kind of drink I want. Usually I have my favorite go to beverage. So I’m more inclined to order it to make sure that’s the thing I get. I just don’t sit down and wonder why the bartender isn’t bringing me what I like, I HAVE TO REQUEST IT. That’s all this is about. I will take my very obvious and somewhat whimsical metaphor one step further. Do I expect A waiter at the restaurant to go through my menu with a sharpie and mark out all of the items that I don’t like or that I find offensive so that I will never see them again? but what if I change my mind on the 10% chance that I want to see the entire menu. Why is everything blacked out? Absurd. And yet Grindr is forcing us to do just that. My first 5 to 10 minutes when I open the app is spent blocking people. Block block block block. Gone forever… Utter waste of time. “ of course you can have a salad and some pasta but I can’t bring it to you until you’ve considered and looked at all of the meat items first. But I’m vegetarian!!!” “ no sir you clearly have a bias against our other menu items since I see you never ordered them and you always order the same thing”…. Sounds ridiculous but that’s what’s happening here.
SO LISTEN… Just because it’s an ethnicity filter and deals with the race of users on the platform doesn’t change the basic fact that it’s a simple preference thing it’s not so deep. just like all businesses, the filter, just like offering choices, is good business. Grindr is the menu and I wanna know what’s on the menu. If I walk in for dessert I go to the back of the menu and order dessert I don’t waste my time looking at entrées. STOP BEING BORISH AND OVERLY SENSITIVE FOLKS…. BRING BACK THE FILTER SO I CAN ORDER MY FAVORITE MEAL!!!! And in those moments when I’m feeling a bit more adventurous I’ll go À la cart. much love and happy hunting (and much wasted time blocking). A Fellow Gay man!!!

Lol “anonymouse”, I never claimed to be more intellectual than anyone. You’re not worth my time. You’re ignorant and going tor remain ignorant, continue to ostracize people. Again, I’ll enjoy my Grindr that allows me to see EVERYONE. You exclusionist on here we’re given unlimited blocks, so use them instead of wanting Grindr to bring back this filter. 🤷

@Anonymouse (once again), I always love when people say "You're not even worth my time" then continue on.. Please decide am I not worth your time because you can't make a proper argument or are you going to continue wasting everyone's time trying to act like an intellectual when you clearly aren't?
The "why" wasn't in your original message. I gave you clear questions in my response and you still couldn't answer a single one of them. Then you try to turn it around to something entirely different and redirect to how you're not even here for any particular reason. You yourself say you're not here to get it restored nor are you here to not have it restored. Literally saying: " I truly do not care if the filters are restored..." If you don't care, why are you here? It's hilarious to me when people like you say these things. You started out saying I'm not worth your time yet you continue to argue. You continue on arguing then say you're not arguing. You even then try to say how you don't care but if you didn't care you wouldn't be here in the first place. You can't "not care" and still keep being so affected by it.
What's even more funny is when people like you do this "You wrote 5 paragraphs..." crap. As if because someone has an actual well thought out, and concise, argument that makes them less than you. You who keeps being unable to prove a single point or argue any point whatsoever. The very second something doesn't go your way you redirect or try to dodge it.
My questions still stand. Let's see if you can answer them. Refer back to my previous reply for them. Though I doubt you'll be able to answer a single one with an actual thought.

How is it exclusion it is a preference. If it's considered as exclusion because of a specific characteristic you might as well remove age and all these other filters.

Grindr doesn’t not give a flying **** whether you choose an “ ethnicity” or not. They are however choosing to ignore the majorities interest over a few gays. As seen in the fact they are not restoring this ethnicity filter everyone is interesting in bringing back. This thread has been open for 6 months and not even in consideration.
Sorry, not sorry. 🤷 -

Since Grindr allows people to select their "ethnicity" (euphemism for race), it’s only hypocritical not to have an "ethnicity" filter. By selecting your "ethnicity", you agree that "ethnicity" exists and that people may judge/filter you based on your "ethnicity". People opposed to racial preferences can simply refuse to select their "ethnicity". The vast majority of users across every racial group do select their "ethnicity". Grindr cannot sacrifice the majority’s interest to appease a few disgruntled gays whom nobody wants to have sex with. To those gays: white people may owe you reparations, but they sure as hell do not owe you sex, so leave their sex life alone.

Clearly it’s off, and your “ E” stands for EXCLUSION” since that’s why you’re spending your day wasting away on a forum. I’m over it, I said what I said and I mean every word of it. I hope you feel like you accomplished something today👏
I’ll enjoy my filter-less Grindr and you can keep fighting..this fight. -

My light switch is either on or off, I don't strattle fences or mince words and the E at the end of my smoke stands for EVERYBODY!
My stance is on freedom for ALL communities!
This has nothing to do with race or the "gay community".
This is about freedom of choice for everyone.

Nope, I’ve only posted 3-4 times. Tons of other anonymous profiles just come on here to stir up and expose the bigotry only to lose interest with retorting ridiculous comments like yours. I hope you keep the same energy for something that truly matters to this community and not something as ridiculous as racially profiling Grindr profiles. 🥲

You're so done and I'm done exposing you.
You're talking in circles and not making any sense whatsoever.
Your sense of confidence and reassurance is obviously false.
You're emplying that I'm wasting my time on this forum however, if you actually believed your own words YOU wouldn't even be here!
Instead you've posted more comments in this thread than anyone else!

Lol, BP you’re so funny! When did I name call? I said “ you sound fragile”
Clearly you are, you’re arguing with me on a forum, when all I did was state your racist filter is NOT coming back. It’s not my problem, control what you can control in this situation. Stay on the forum and voice your problematic concern and maybe, despite having over 5,500 votes, it will not be heard. -

Fragile, really! Well you're clearly at a lost for words but name calling won't shut me up.
The fact that you think you're entitled to a "point" is what's wrong with the world! You don't get to have a point, say, or opinion about someone else's life or any business that does not concern YOU.
I wouldn't even know who's not interested in me because I only focus on who is! If you're a desired person it doesn't matter what your race is you'll still be desired with or without an ethnicity filter.
The ethnicity filter is an OPTIONAL FEATURE for those who know who they are and what they want in life!
It isn't forced on anyone if you don't like it don't use it.
The only people who'd complain about a ethnicity filter are the stalkers and the mentally challenged predators that can't deal with rejection!
Those are the facts there is no sane nor intelligent rebuttal to be had.

BP, you sound fragile, and the first sentence of your response proves my point and exactly why my point still stands, getting on a Grindr forum to voice this and you still don’t have those beloved racist filter. Bye.
Chang, no need to “rephrase it so I can understand” I’m not here to defend Grindr, this app and many others are the reason BP feels so empowered, around 10 years ago you could get on Grindr and state racist, homophobic nonsense on your profile and it was completely tolerated, but it’s 2021 and most are not going to stand for it. It’s ignorant and we are looking for a better tomorrow, if you and some of the others want to use filters to look for intimate connects, as stated on here by others, A4A, sniffies and others might be the applications for you to use. As they do not monitor hate speak on your profile.
Have a good one -

Hey Anonymous I don't want to see Whites, Asians, or any kind of Latino EVER not as a friend buddy or pal and absolutely NEVER sexually. I'm not racist I know what I want and I shouldn't be subjected to you nor others that I have ZERO interest in just because you can't deal with rejection. Seeing the profile of someone who is not interested you is pointless it facilitates unsolicited attention and advances from undesirables and it enables stalking and harassment. Shit like #blm and #stopasianhate shouldn't be allowed on Grindr this isn't grade school we don't all have to get along or like each other there are too many other forums and platforms dedicated to people who want to kumbaya but with an app dedicated to connecting people for romantic interests an ethnic/race filter is certainly necessary no matter which race or group feels disproportionately rejected you can't make people like something they don't and forcing yourself on people is desperate tacky and arrogant and it'll definitely get you reported and blocked anyway! This is not about race its about freedom of choice and preference just like they/them people! Live and let live if you like or want something or someone that doesn't want you that is YOUR OWN SELF ESTEEM ISSUE please don't make it mine.
