Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

Please finally listen to the wisdom of those men. Please bring back the ethnicity filter. SCRUFF, JACK’D and other applications use it and among their users are also YOUR GRINDR users. Many of them who allegedly oppose the filter here. You will not lose customers, but gain!

I’m so tired of people saying that you’re filtering out a whole group of people just because you want to find those who you are actually attracted to. You could turn the filter on and then you can turn the filter off depending on your mood. Because at the moment I’m not filtering people out im actually blocking them permanently.. because of the lack of a filter …so which is worse? Blocking someone forever that you’ll never see again or just going through a filter and seeing who is out there at any given moment? Please stop being ridiculously and overly “woke”. Bring the filter back it’ just makes more sense for you customers.

Having the filter isn't a bad thing it allows ppl to find what they find attractive to them friends are one thing but a sexual attraction is another also with the filter it will only show what you want to see so you don't gotta keep blocking ppl just to see ppl you are attracted too and want to consider being in bed with I'm attracted to white Mex blk and Arab guys or mixed those would be my filters and if the admin does make this filter I'm hoping they will also do the hold profile pic mass block to make room for ppl it's bad enough with the distance filter screwing up or not working at all

Every day, we discriminate whether we notice or not. When you choose to eat eggs instead of oatmeal, whether you choose to go to certain restaurants, whether you choose red color instead of blue etc etc. We need to take out the negative stigma of the word " discrimination" when you choose something over another thing you're discriminating, meaning you have a preference for whatever reason and choices should be respected. I don't believe that a filter with different options should be offensive to anyone. The same way you look for certain restaurants or gay apps, you're just choosing your preference; there is no hatred on it, and for me, that is the bottom line

@Hhggg Firstly don't ask me a question and answer it with what you believe MY response should be. Secondly you are correct in a perfect world sexual attraction should have nothing to do with being a racist I believe Everyone has the right to like what they like but when you start filtering peoples race on personal stereotypes it's wrong! And I am victim to doing it sometimes, but I can say I am more willing to understand and let go of my preferences when I find out we have more in common then we dont....I have a friend that only likes white guys and you can put the most gorgeous person of another nationality/Race in front of him and he cannot find anything positive to say about them. He will say things like I'm not into blacks because their loud, ghetto, and stink or Girl the only time I like rice is when it's on my plate etc etc.....I will say this last part and it's that I personally don't care for men that refer them selves to filthy animals like 🐖, fisting, urination, humiliation, pain and torture I find that most ment that aren't African American are into weird shit like that BUT THATS MY PERSONAL OPINION. but we can agree or find some type of commonality then I'm willing to drop my preference and do different.

It would be great to use the filter again… it is worth saving the time and trouble of messaging someone only to be ignored because they can’t be overtly racist to you or in their profile to and be considered woke and relevant. Black Lives Matter ✊🏿 👀…. Only when you’re looking to get impaled…

@Michael Gray: are you attracted to 95yo men with dementia? Why not? be honest about it -- you are just ageist and ableist, right? What about women? Are you attracted to women? It's okay not to be attracted to women, but be honest, you're sexist right?
Sexual attraction has NOTHING to do with whether you are racist or not, and that's what you're trying to say. I have ZERO sexual attraction to Chinese men, but you seem to think that's because I am racist and prejudiced against Chinese people? You are truly delusional if you think that.

So you don't see an issue with filtering out a whole group of people based on their ethnicity? I personally don't care much for white men but there are a handful of them that I do find attractive and normal so I'm not going to filter out all of them based on a few of them that aren't my type. You guys always hide behind these prejudices behaviors as preferences. It's okay to not be attracted to someone but be honest about what the real reason is.

I am an unlimited member for 5 years now the past 3 have not been impressed with Grindr , and every-time in the last 3 years that my membership has come up for renewal ,I question myself am I getting what I am paying for .and now i'm pretty much sure that now I don't any-longer .And now come August I think i will go back to using the free membership because half of what i used and paid for originally are features that no longer are an option and that is what all the features are supposed to be is an option it doesn't mean that you are raciest or ageist or trans-phobic ,it means that what turns your crank, gets you hot is perhaps to a south Asian 45 year old bottom today ,but maybe tomorrow you want a big dominant hairy twink to fuck your brains out tomorrow.the choice is yours if only there was an app that worked that way ,oh ya grindr USED TO WORK THAT WAY ,oh you even got to decide if they were to far to travel to or practically your neighbor.Come August its time we part ways I'm going to start using growlr and Scruff. At the very least they don't change the format after you pay a premium .and if they do they send an email to members informing of the changes to be made .giving the option of canceling your membership if you so wish

Yes. Sometimes I'm in a new town and prefer to meet up with people of simular ethnic background. There-s nothing wrong with that. Sometimes its easier to talk to sumilar people.

Disagree. It creates a toxic environment - Gr has got better since they got rid of it. I am of South Asian origin and I can definitely say on balance it is better this way. The benefit to find other people of similar ethnicity was marginal and not used by everyone, but the harmful effect of the filter is harmful to every single ethnic minority person. For the greater good let's not bring this toxicity back.

The comments on here are the reason I quit Grindr. Pseudo intellectual opinions disguised as wisdom.
Removing ethnicity as an option actually discriminates against those that like to date OUT of our own race! Why? Because you have to pay extra to scroll through the dozens of milquetoast profiles of average men. What race is the majority in my town? WHITES. So have to swipe thru and block each profile so that I don't have to see them again.
If you don't give customers natural choices, someone else will make a better app or find it's better way.
Grindr is full of strange opinionated misanthropes who think they're taking a stand but are just compensating for their failure to make connections, it seems.

It doesn't make me racist for wanting the ethnic filter. I'm biracial and prefer to date black or biracial men.
I'm tired of being forced to see dozens of mediocre white men in this town. If I have a free account, I have to pay a premium to get to see more men of my preference.
So I'll continue to block all the white boy accounts I see.
Also, I have friends who are only into interracial. They feel the same way. Many black men want to search for white men or Asian men only to be stuck in the same asinine hell that some fool thought was an enlightened decision. The ultra left wing comments assuming that I'm racist just proves how hypocritical these self righteous asshats are.

650+ ETHNIC GROUPS & GROWING.
LETS BE REAL VOTERS.The world we live in today ?
Wifi is Religion / S.Media is Culture / Vibe(s) are our Race / language are coded / & the heart is a place of origin instead. I understand the want* (not a need) for this, & frankly, i did* (no longer) but ive realised the need to end a primitive selection to desire ETHNICITY. We sustain this toxic conditioning for "selection" as we've been heavily groomed, for decades !I vote NO to ethnic filter & YES (only) for data capture & display // those looking to identify their ethnic group ? Check their profile bio. , sorted. Cheers
