Separate section for trans people and their admirers
I think trans men and trans women along with people who are trans-attracted deserve to have their own separate posting section. That way, trans community members and their admirers can better easily connect with one another. It would be beneficial and make sense to give trans people and their seekers their own platform, connected to the rest of Grindr but as a section within the existing app. You could call it GrindrTrans or something.

I feel we all deserve to have our own space. I'm a gay man looking for another gay man. It is hard enough looking through all the unfinished profiles to find someone when they limit the amount of profiles you get to see period. Adding a feature to separate profiles according to cis or non cis and even Trans would fix this if people would fill out the profile. Also one for straight/bi/gay couples looking for an extra person to join them. We are all looking for something. We are all different. Why do we all have to be lumped together? We all deserve a place and not to have to share one space. I've been using this app far to long as a tester to see the negative things that have come from it. Removing the profiles you do not want to see gives you better options to find what you are looking for.

Personally trans or even CD isn't my thing. Trans to male that's fine as they are now men, but other way should go to a straight app equivalent??
Call me what you will but I want my men to be men on a gay man's app! Not 'straight' looking for a quick fix. But dose get annoying amount of trans and so called 'straight' for trans only types
Can't be filtered (even if could would only be on (over priced) unlimited. -

I dont think it's unreasonable on a platform largely for m4m interactions that there should be a way to filter out men looking for trans and trans women.

Then change tribes in your filter instead of complaining about having to look at us lmfao. As if we or Grindr support actually give a fuck.

Whoever said grindr is a fetish app, this is for you. The lifestyle choices of the communities here aren't fetishes. Some people fetishize them.
Some people don't wear masks when it's appropriate to during a pandemic. Some don't wash up after using the bathroom. I would mostly blame the breakdown of American social ethics at some level and how people are being raised.

You can’t filter them out even if you pay. That’s the point of this thread.

@Michelle Hinds We’d be happy to do so if they would restore ALL filters for ALL fields they allow is to fill out. This includes trans, ethnicity, hiv status, etc. I’m sure Grindr thinks they are being inclusive, but they are just robbing people of their monies.

Why are people opposed to welcoming the trans community into grindr? It really shouldn't affect you if you aren't interested in trans people. You can simply filter them out. Grindr would need to add this feature to the free version, but that's easy for them to do.
Why be so inclusive? That's just being, as I see it, a bit hateful. So many other platforms created have matured and grown and are glad to do so. Think about how in the past, gay men were so heavily marginalized. Now that trans people are arguably more marginalized now, I'm amazed at how some of you can be so callous and so quickly forget what it was like. Shame on you.
It's a mild inconvenience at most. Stop being so selfish.

Here's the deal idiots. Grindr is M4M. Which doesn't apply to Trans women. Unless you pay for the premium account you have limited access to a certain amount of users. If the trans community had their own section / grindr app it would clearly benefit both parties. Grindr would obviously advertise this change which would attract trans users as well as those who are looking to date or meet trans users.

This isn’t Facebook. It’s a fetish app.

I really hate this idea. I already hate that chasers use the 'trans' tribe to seek out trans people. This would only encourage chasers to think its okay to fetishize(?) trans people.

This is not transphobic. There are plenty of apps for women to find men. Apps that are free and designed for straight people allow you to filter by men seeking men. Not Grindr though. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

You only give ten blocks a day! I’m a GAY MAN and don’t want the Trans or Str8 Guys in here. You don’t give enough blocks for that to happen. Sad part I’m about to make my own app with the owner of Squadron. I block as least 1-2 bots for the same thing it’s just getting old!!

I, too, am trans. The only reason I suggested it was for convenience. That way I wouldn’t have to go through thousands of profiles to find someone that is interested in a trans woman. My suggestion wasn’t meant to put us in a box, but rather, manage my time better by not having to go through profiles, contact the person, wait for a reply only to find out they are not interested in my gender. So,GUR I don’t understand why you would say I am transphobic, as I stated I am trans. AND, I would like the option to filter out men that are not interested in girls like me. Relax! It was just a time management suggestion.

This is beyond transphobic. I’m sure you see plenty of men on Grindr that you aren’t attracted to but you’re not bitching about them.

Putting us as a tribe is degrading because they think that being trans is degrading; you wouldn’t like feeling like you are the cheaper of the bunch. Segregation isn’t right either but if a masculine male wants a masculine male and can feed the feed to his specific needs; EVERYONE should atone that right; it shouldn’t be a double standard and that is why it isn’t a fair option to me. Just my two cents.

That’s the problem with online communities, everyone wants to segregate away from the main group and eventually everyone will sit in a box alone...
