I believe it's Grindr itself who is making money with the insertion of these ads, that's why they don't disappear, they just get rearranged whenever users get used to fast deleting the current format. They charge you for suscription, they bombard you with ads they also make money with, now that is business!

The distance displayed essentially advertises your EXACT location to every Grindr user that is logged into the app. This distance is updated every time you send a message or refresh the app. Anyone can then EASILY calculate the location of your home, work, church, bar, trick’s house (and who you probably fucked last night). This is called trilateration and it can be calculated by spreadsheet or other computer promgram that utilizes complex geodesic equations…..or very simply using FreeMapTools/Radius Around a Point and drawing circles using the distance as the radius with respect to each “center point”. The target is simply at the intercection.

Most people would actually be very uncomfortable after reading this and will likely disable their distance as well.

Eliminate fake pages, don't allow totally blank profiles, device ban trolls. Why do y'all act like a single ounce of any of this is difficult to enforce? 75% profiles are blank and picture less, tf is appealing about that, a sea of nothing when scrolling and have to block all the blanks just to see some damn faces. Use AI to filter out known pictures of reported scammers. Every week I see the same pictures under different names from people all pulling the same scam... Send me gas money first... It's ruining this site because there's no integrity. Also there should be an amount of times that an email address can be used. People make and delete profiles because they get blocked daily. I have one dude that's almost stalker. I've blocked him probably 7 times

Get rid of your phoney profile bots with computer generated msgs trying to keep people online or trying to get people to do a paid subscription

Make all profiles so they can be seen n block with out having to open them. Can you not stop people sending the spam 3nd party web sites (esp when they have Grindr in them) I report them n block them but still seem to get between 2-5 a day.

Yeah...these fake profiles are getting ridiculous. They are even remembering my info about me so after I block them, 2 hours later sometimes with same exact profile they lead off w that info. I got harrased and then blocked. Who knows how many of my photos have bern stolen. I have meet guys who send me my pics from places I never been saying I was just in thay city...its ridiculous. I could go for a verification badge. And glad you dont delete chats anymore of blocked so you can report them, but if they block you they are gone...you cant report them.

Often times bots or scammers or selling investments don't have distance. Filtering out would be handy just as current filters are handy for type, seeking,, no pics and such.
