I periodically receive messages, one liners to go to another site.
Other apps such as Grindr will suspended an account if ads link is posted. 1st time, a one hour suspension, second time, permanent suspension.
Isn't this something Grindr could do? I'm not sure if it qualifies as SPAM but I still report it.
If implemented, the app could kill the message before received and penalize the sender as suggested above.

Clean up the experience.
The filters are a Colossal pain in the ass. They’re difficult to navigate they don’t always give you what you want, and to top it off, you’ve added all of the narcissistic people who want to boost their profile to the top of all of them even when I want to look at people for distance. It’s ridiculous, It’s confusing, and should seriously be top of your priority fire whoever is coming up with those bonehead ideas. Keep it clean and simple don’t muddy it up.

Distance
I believe that one of the filters should be a range of distances, so that finding someone closer to us is easier. I shouldn't have to pay to have my account seen more.

Profiles from faraway are showing up within the first 15 profiles on a rotation.
Just to keep these profiles 71,2 or 3 miles away, where they belong!

Users that never logout
To reduce the number of users that never logout, whether looking or not even using the app, ping their phones every half hour. "Still using grindr? Yes No" The user would then have to click on yes to stay logged in. If the user did not respond, that user would be logged out by the app. Too many users that are logged in for weeks at a time! I wonder how many of them don't know that they can log our, or how to do it!

Refresh gps position on demand
Refresh gps position is too frequent and use a lot of battery. Create in user parameter the choice to :
Activate automatic gps refresh / less refresh like every 10 minutes / refresh manually by scroll the screen. Better to preserve our phone battery.1 vote -
Don't allow empty profiles!
Make nickname, at least one photo, and description mandatory in every profile. There are too many empty profiles and often they are just fake or spam
