Try telling people why they got banned
Literally, unconsensual nudes are an undying mould on the app with entitled, creepy cis men always throwing pictures of their dicks at people who explicitly state they don't want photos. I can almost guarantee half the people complaining about getting banned are one of the thousand faceless profiles sending unwanted nudes. Give repeat offenders a pop up saying "did you ask?" Before they're allowed to send a photo. If y'all can't take the numerous ways Grindr has given you leeway for just not respecting the people you're trying to fuck, given you gentle and easy ways to hear that we…

Protecting info and disabling sdk
Sdk should be able to be disable when any app user doesn’t want to have it being used and all information should be protect and not sold these are the reason identity are easily stolen and brake the privacy act that provided by many company and mobile devices

The App is to easily being manipulated by hackers.
What frustrates me the most is when Users appear to be within a few thousand feet away from my location only to find out - once you engage in the conversation with such individuals - that they are in the Philippines or Ghana. How the hell they do that? Better security is required.

Hsv2 declaration option like hiv feature for profiles
Much like the option already given to users for HIV status declarations the feature proposed would be a close to being mirrored and easy code for web engineering and design team to reproduce exactly as you have already done for covid-19 descriptors recently given to users as an additional description feature.
NEW DESCRIPTION FEATURE that would greatly benefit user profiles would be for Genital/sacral/oral herpes simplex viral infections these conditions are also known as a persons HSV-1 and HSV-2 status.
The CDC statistics provided in 2022 reports that “roughly 18.6 million people living with HSV-2 reside in the United States.”

Pestering - show activity as offline
I have a guy who is quite pestering and messages every single time I’m online, the ability to “mute” my online activity indications to an individual would be useful. I live in a small part of town with lots connected work and social relations and blocking is likely to cause more issues than it’s worth. This feature would be really useful if someone is concerned about safety, stalking or violence.

Please can you get rid of the "gear" tag on Grindr. This tag is endagaring and putting at risk anyone who uses the app
If you have a tag specifically for drug use and Chemsex, surely that violates Grindrs safety guidlens. By having this tag you are not only making it not a safe space you are actually encouraging drug use yes you Grindr! Targeting an already vulnerable community. I'm beyond fucked off at this major slip up.

Modify the blocking and reporting feature
Many times I get abusive messages from someone who instantly blocks me without any ability to report them or to block them.
I cannot report abuse if they already blocked me. I also cannot mutually block them. So often they will unblock me and start the abusive messages without my ability to block them.8 votes -

Cheater
There are thousands of folks here who refuse to show up even after seeing you. That's outrageous behaviour. Grindr needs to ensure that people's profiles are verified and that when a user messages, their authentic face pics are also shared. Soo many fake assholes are hiding behind screen in name of being discrete and I think this makes it easier for people to cheat.
It's a gay dating app which has been transformed into a hook-up app. That's horribly sad.

An increase of scammers
I have recently noticed an increase in scam accounts messaging me. Most of them are for websites advertising adult content that you must sign up for by first giving the platform your credit/debit card information, others are trying to be a little more sophisticated by trying to get users to sing up for external "social media" platforms, such as a website known as "dreamguydatesandfun", found here: dreamguydatesandfun.com (Please do not sign up with real information as you will be scammed). I have done some research into the website and domain names, alongside similar reports such as this one from a…

Liars and flakes. They chat and say they are on their way to meet and then don’t show.
Far to many guys chat up a good story and then say they are on their way to meet. However, in spite of providing them with a phone number to contact me, there is no call and a no-show. This is happened to me so many times I am considering just canceling my Grindr account and forgetting about it too many of these guys are just assholes

Showing the date of acount creation
It will be very useful that every acount have a date of creation that will reduced the potential for harassment. Not only the gay community, but also harassers who are not and create accounts to publicly shame you or harass you in any way.

Have profile verifications and associate the user to his real identity. Obviously for safety reasons

Permanent profile name
All profile names should be permanent and every one should have different profile original name that cannot be changed. This would eliminate multiple and fake profiles of people changing name all the time. This would also help with a verification of profiles. Everyone would need to submit their profile name to data base to make sure it doesn’t exist then it can be approved by grinder

Automatic spam flagger
Automatically scan each chat message for words like gift, steam, card, cash, etc ....
If a word is detected, whoever sent it has their profile secretly flagged. Then, somebody at Grindr can block accordingly or whatever they need to do.
If you want to pretend you care about privacy, you can have a pop-up come up saying we think you received chat message from a scammer, may we have access to the chat you had with them.8 votes -
Allow for customizable sounds
Allow for customizable, personal notification tones for chat, taps, etc. The Grindr tone is too well known and using custom tones would increase privacy & security.
