1. Identifying scammers

   Hey guys. Not sure if you guys have been told about this or not. This was an idea the members came up with and it’s been passed along from member to member. There’s been such a huge onslaught of scammers on the site as you undoubtedly know. It’s almost impossible to maneuver around it. So what people have been asked to do if they’re suspicious is to ask the guy to do a selfie and instruct them to for example hold one finger up. That way you can see if the actual person matches the picture. The first time it was asked of me I was shocked, but then it was explained to me why and it made perfect sense. Maybe there’s a way you guys could incorporate that into the app. I’ve been on and off Grindr since the beginning and it’s almost intolerable with the scammers. I’m sure you probably already know, but they always start up the same by greeting you a short sentence of something and then they go directly to inquiring what you do for a living. 2. Profile pics

   Could it be possible to have a feature that anyone who does not have a profile pic not be able to message you. I don’t want someone who has a landscape pic or some random pic messaging me. It’s a waste of time. It’s dumb to hear someone say “sorry I’m DL I don’t send pics” NP no chat should be a feature you can turn on to block users who will not send a headshot or a pics of who they are. Or maybe have it as a filter.

3. The amount of scammers and Fake Accounts it’s insane!!!! What are you doing about it? To protect Your users????

   I can’t believe if you charge $3999 a month for this garbage app full of scammers, fake profiles what are you doing to protect your user nothing at all. As long as the payment goes through at the end of the month that all you really care about???

6. Verify account to reduce Ghosting and fake profiles

   It appears Hosting and fake profile to solicit pictures and to raise user emotions before ghosting them is becoming more common than not.

   Not only does this impact the mental health of users who are being ghosted, but it seriously impacts the user and makes them question their existence without our community.
   Fake users are getting off on getting attention but never following through, nor ever going to meet, but lead the user on before blocking them 2 mins before meeting.

   There needs to be some facility within the app to verify the user, or a 'commit to meet' option which gives each user the trust that they are both real and intend on a meet.

   Society sucks, but this app sucks even more when you feel like you've been taken advantage of, then discarded by someone who had no intention on meeting anyways.
   Surely Grindr can implement some verification process to weed out the fake accounts or people who are only here to hurt others..

   Since you removed the “block” option i don’t want to pay Grindr anymore. I encourage other users to do the same. If they don’t listen to us, let’s stop paying $.

10. Turn Off Grunt as default!

    Keep grunt off as default. There were several times this went off & I thought my phone was hacked. It was alarming. Keep usual tap sound not grunt. This grunt will definitely cause issues with privacy & anyone trying to be discrete. Not ideal for ppl in the closet.

    Hello Grindr leadership! Let's get Grindr into merchant services. Whether it's going out on a date or in need lube, it would be convenient to exchange money on the app in my chat. Dating gets chaotic when we have to launch so many apps, call Lyft, and keep my hunny interested all the while. I want to offer rideshare in app as well.

    These tools would promote a safer LGBTQ plus community and reduce the need to share more than necessary personal information when it's still not that serious in the relationship. So let's experiment and give each other a chance at the wallet experience. I would love to maintain like $50 bucks in my account at a time to have rideshare money and a few coffee dates readily funded for.

    Ease of mind for the controllable aspects of dating. All within the Gayborhood.

    Get your IT department to get rid of all the fake profiles currently plaguing Grindr. I have just blocked about 7 located nearby. It doesn't matter how many times I block these fake profiles they keep reappearing. Please do something about this.

    Grindr should implement a comprehensive identity verification process to significantly reduce bots, fake profiles, and scam accounts. The verification system should operate similarly to identity checks used by government agencies and airport security, ensuring that every active profile belongs to a real individual.

    1. Live Government ID Capture
       The app should require users to take a real-time photo of their government-issued ID using the in-app camera. Uploading files, images, or documents should not be allowed, as this prevents altered or fraudulent materials from being submitted.

    2. Live Face Verification
       Immediately following the ID scan, users should complete a live selfie capture. AI matching technology can compare the selfie to the ID to confirm that the identity belongs to the actual person creating the account.

    3. Email or Phone Verification
       A verified phone number or email should be required as an additional security layer. This prevents mass creation of fake accounts and provides reliable contact validation.

    4. Profile Activation After Approval Only
       Profiles should not become visible or active until the identity verification process is fully completed. This ensures that only verified individuals can interact with others on the platform.

    5. Verified Checkmark Badge
       Once a profile has passed all verification steps, a checkmark badge should appear on the profile, similar to verification systems used by Instagram and Facebook. This badge signals authenticity and increases user trust.

    6. Pending Verification Status
       If profiles are allowed to be created before final approval, a “Pending Verification” status should be displayed on the user’s photo or profile. During this pending stage, messaging and interaction should be disabled. Other users should be able to see the pending status, ensuring complete transparency.

    This verification model would create a safer, more authentic user experience by greatly reducing fake profiles, bots, and scam activity across the platform.

16. When reporting someone put a place for scammers. And when a scammer is reported enough times shut their account down

    You don't have any place to report scammers. And we users are tired of see all the scammers trying to get gift cards or cashapp. Or only fans or Snapchat or WhatsApp. Give us users a option to report scammers and take it seriously and if reports show scammers remove them and prevent them from making a new account to scam people we all are tiered of it and we are starting to go to different apps as we can nolonger find companionship on here with out fitting though hundreds of scammers filling up the screen

17. Make blocking and reporting spam easier

    We can usually see pretty quickly from viewing a profile or message if it’s spam, or maybe someone we know and need to block urgently. Current state, we need to click on the profile or chat and are forced to watch a video before we can even block or report. This could be a safety issue if we’re blocking someone for a reason. We really should be able to block and report faster and easier. My suggestion would be for the add to have a delay which lets us hit the block or report button, and stops the add from playing.

    Please add more options for the following vaccines which are available for people to take and then other will be better informed they are taking precautions and care of themselves and others in the long run everyone wants to enjoy themselves.
