   if you ever fix the block problem... when we block someone it blocks any new account with that same email forever. that truly is a safety concern since you don't require real photos or verification.

7. Turn off notifications from only specified person

   Add feature to turn off all notifications from a person such as a received message or tap but still see the message or tap later. It could be beneficial if you dont want to block someone but not be distributed by him. Thanks.

9. Privacy features should not cost a premium

   Essential privacy controls are too important to require a premium payment. I know you need to generate revenues, but it is a safety issue and there should at least be a way to completely hide one's profile at the basic free tier. This would be more limiting for the user than Incognito mode, and would include being unable to browse other profiles or send/receive messages -- essentially temporarily suspending the app. Basically nobody could see you, but you can't see them either. Then at the paid tier users could use incognito mode and browse and communicate while their own profiles are hidden as it currently is.

12. So manipulative and confusion

    There is a lot happening in my life with triggers, and some guys are fake, catfish, and take advantage of deaf people. They don't realize what others can do behind their back. Everyone makes mistakes, so why not stop mocking and making them, especially when it comes to alcohol and drug addiction? Deaf people struggle with mental health, and it's not right for random guys to use drugs with them without their knowledge and then use their personal information and pictures. This needs to be prevented.

    Yes, everyone should be using unique passwords. Yes, people should not share information that they would not want unintended viewers to see. Yes, if people have a problem with its security practices they can move to other apps. Do these (false) assumptions of the userbase mean the implementation of proper safeguarding practices should be ignored? Absolutely not.

    Grindr serves an incredibly vulnerable population. Since it is by the most popular platform for this population, it is its responsibility to do what is most ethically and morally responsible, even if it makes people slightly awkward when logging in.

    Our personal information is only as secure as the peoples' accounts that we share that information with. I can setup complicated passwords for this one app, but if an account that I have interacted with becomes compromised because they did not take the same steps as I did, then everything I shared is also compromised.

    We can't make the assumption that even a majority of users make their Grindr password unique. Thus, it ought to be mandatory for Grindr users to participate in 2-Factor Authentication. This will not completely solve the problem of data security and digital safety, and it also would not be a popular change, but it would be a major step in protecting the safety and security of its userbase.

14. “Re-blocked” protections

    This has been written to allow entry level users (non-paying) to better protect themselves, encourage them to remain engaged with the app, feel safe, and will prevent account deletion out of fear

    In order to prevent or discourage bullying threats or harassment, in cases such:

    1. The abusive “person A” has blocked the abused “person B”;
       A has the option to Unblock B, send B some harassing/threatening/insulting/etz’ messages, wait for a reaction -read_indication- from B and Re-Block B again (giving minimal reaction room (*) ). This creates one sided, abusive communication with an option for repetition.

    (*) an abusive person A has no interest in the abused B person’s reaction.

    Suggestion- community prot[ection]: recognize pattern: unblock- short spanned communication -Reblock (**) - recognize pattern and ask the blocked person B if the conversation was abusive. If so, allow B to report the conversation.

    (**) Long spanned conversation can indicate rehabilitated communication- might not be abusive.

    Suggestion-community prot’: pattern repetition- if A repeats the same abusive pattern with multiple users, alert the system making A more susceptible to reports.

    Suggestion - user protection: single unblock per (abused) profile ; “Re-block” -blocks for good- in other words the (abused) user does not show on the “unblock users” list. (***)

    (***) some might use the block-unblock function as a way to “clean” conversations on both ends, Thus guarding their privacy, and preventing some people from having permanent access to their unsolicited images.

    Those can prevent “heat of the moment” interactions, and force abusive users to move on.

16. Block phone or computer IP address

    The block button should block that persons phone/computer instead of just that login. That way they can’t just create a new account and keep messaging you. I met this guy on here and things just didn’t work but he is psychologically obsessed and creates new profiles daily and uses fake pics the reason I know is because I will tap explorer and move to the area he lives and boom there is the profile he just messaged me from right at his house. It’s getting kinda scary actually. It’s been 6 months and he doesn’t give up!

17. Allow users to opt out of being messaged by "recently joined" profiles unless a user initiated contact first

    As Grindr allows users to have multiple profiles and unlimited or Xtra features transfer after a very short wait when switching profiles, the ability for abusive exes or stalkers to continue to pursue their victims by repeatedly creating new profiles to harass, bully, or threaten them renders the app unpleasant and at times unusable. Allowing individuals to opt out of being messaged by these profiles is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY as a free feature in the app to protect users. Or, better yet, since Grindr is capable of device banning individuals, why not allow users to opt out of being messaged or viewed by ANY profile attached to a particular device.
