An error occurred while saving the comment L commentedThis could be very simply solved for all parties with better filters and mandatory fields like "sex" and "sexual orientation/preference". But seeing as the owners and moderators of Grindr consider reality a form of "Hate Speech" I doubt they will include this. Removing the race/ethnicity filter was also an indication that they see themselves as moral arbiters, like babysitters, telling us all how to behave and putting unnecessary barriers on our choices.

An error occurred while saving the comment L commentedYep, same thing happened to me. Expressing homosexuality is apparently "Hate Speech" according to the dating site/app originally designed for homosexual men. I didn't get a warning or any explanation so I am just assuming my profile stating "I'm not into transgenderism" was what got me banned. Although I also said I wasn't into “extreme promiscuity/diseases” or circumcision. It's like they don't want us to have any boundaries or preferences. It's turned into just a fetish site where you can't filter out any unhealthy or disturbing behaviour. I've seen creeps with diaper fetishes and one guy was looking for a male dog and an older man for his girlfriend. Grindr moderators seem more interested in playing nanny so no one gets their feelings hurt than the actual safety of users. I've also received violent threats for this.

An error occurred while saving the comment L commentedUnfortunately, men are on lesbian and women-only apps as well and there are legal battles over it. "Giggle" is an example. I wish we could at least have the filters we want without limiting our grid and that certain information like "sex" would be required to make a profile.

There should be more safety features, for sure. This could be abused with false reports but something more should definitely be done. People should really just meet in public during the day when online dating. But unfortunately, the culture has degraded quite badly into normalising unhealthy behaviour.
