Grindr doesn’t care about the LGBTQ+ community as a whole—just look at their own words. From their About Us section:

“Since 2009, Grindr has grown into the world’s largest network for gay, bi, trans, and queer adults. Each day, millions of people in nearly every country open the app to connect, chat, and build community.”

Notice anything missing? Lesbians aren’t even mentioned. That omission says a lot. It’s clear Grindr is more focused on promoting a specific agenda—namely the trans movement—than fostering true inclusion across the broader LGBTQ+ spectrum.

Let’s be honest: lesbians don’t invade Grindr because they already have their own spaces. Why can’t gay and bi men have that same right? Instead, we’re constantly dealing with women-presenting profiles, many of which are soliciting money for sex. If Grindr wants to be a hookup and dating app for men, then give us that space—without the clutter, confusion, and constant filtering.

Enough is enough. If trans individuals and their admirers want a space, they should build one. Grindr should stop forcing its user base to adapt to a platform that no longer respects its original community.

A transgender man may identify as a man, but biologically, they are not. Even with surgical procedures, the fundamental biological components of a male are not present. No matter how far the extreme left pushes to redefine sex and gender, the reality of biology remains unchanged. This constant reshaping of definitions has led to growing confusion among younger generations—confusion that breeds personal isolation, disconnection within the LGBTQ+ community, and a culture that feels increasingly detached from reality. Many within the community are tired of being lumped in with ideological extremes and just want to live authentically without being boxed into ever-shifting narratives.

    Hey Alex Nathan,
No—they’re not. And that’s not coming from a place of hate; it’s just reality. When we’re talking about hookups, physical sex matters. A trans man might present as male, but once clothes come off, the biology doesn’t match what most gay men are looking for. We shouldn’t be guilted into accepting something as fact when it isn’t. Identity and respect are one thing—but denying basic biological differences doesn’t help anyone.

Don’t be fooled. Grindr isn’t about the lgbtqia+ community as a whole. Just take a look at Grindrs website.

They say this, “Grindr has grown into the largest social networking app for gay, bi, trans, and queer people.”

What happened to the lesbians? I thought Grindr was inclusive of all? Nope. They left the lesbians alone, now they need to give the gay and bi men back their space and leave us alone.

Grindr can easily create a separate space for trans people and those who admire them. Along with anyone else who’s gender-bending or confused or identifying as something that most of the time they can’t even explain what it means but it’s the hot term going around in women’s study classes right now.

Im sure it’s just as annoying for a trans person to see a grid of people they aren’t interested in or who aren’t interested in them as it is a gay guy.

This has been and continues to be a huge miss for Grindr. They are more worried about being this all inclusive one size fits all brand for the LGBTQIA community and it’s not appropriate. The majority reason that people use the app is for sexual meet up’s. Sure there’s other reasons it’s used, but that is the main one.

They continue to take away a space that was originally made for gay men and their community to share.

They continue to ignore the request by Trans individuals for their own space.

They continue to ignore the request from gay men to have their own space.

They claim they are being inclusive of the queer community but you don’t see a ton of lesbians on the app trying to find meet ups. So that claim is false.

Grindr has the technology and the resources to be a champion of creating spaces tailored to the right communities to ensure safe and like minded meet ups.

Grindr is pushing a mix of the Gay and Trans community in a way that could be potentially dangerous or deadly if a user were to misrepresent themselves to another user who was expecting to meet up with someone completely different.

It’s time that Grindr stop ignoring this issue and actually do something about it. It’s clear that the culture at headquarters is out of touch with reality and the community at large would appreciate if you kept your work agenda to the offices at HQ and out of our social and dating app.

Let’s be honest here. Grindr has made its decision on this topic and doesn’t have the courage to address it with their users. They seem like they want to create dialog around important topics and ways to make the app better, but they stay silent. This has been a debated topic for multiple years now and nothing has changed. Grindr could have already solved this with free filters or additional sibling apps to provide communities a place to connect that truly allows more connection to happen. In 2009 Grindr was about Gay men. Now they strive to be the app for all Queer people and don’t care about the gay men that made this drove this app into the success it is today.

In case someone from Grindr actually cares to read this…

    * the originator of this post is trans and is asking for a separate space.

    * gay men want their separate space like they had when Grindr was started

    * more trans people have ask for a separate space beyond the originator of the post

    * people have ask for free filters to make their grid personalized to individuals they will find a connection with.

How has Grindr addressed this? By doing the complete opposite and/or nothing.

Check out the screenshot of what Grindr stands for today. It seems like their mission isn’t in line with the community that pays their bills.

Care to finally comment Grindr? Or are you going to just let this sit here unanswered for a few more years?

Let’s all be honest here. Grindr doesn’t care about what people have to say or how they feel. This post has been up for a long time and it’s very clear that Grindr is going to allow a very small representation of the LGBTQ community to have the largest voice. In the meantime they continue to alienate and not care about gay men and seem to have forgotten that without them they wouldn’t be the app they are today. Shame on you grindr.
