6. The blockers who get yours personnal info

   I thinks the blockers are the main issues on the app and they bring is bad reputation.

   When you send your location, adresss, personnel photo, phone numbers and you wait that personnwho was suppose to come. Finally, the guy just blocked you and your not able to keep any info on that person. This person can keep all your attached and infos in conversation.

   Well I suggest that:
   If a person blocked you, you receive an instant message who advise you that you been block and you have the option to keep that frozen profile and also all the conversation and photos. Maybe you can reveive a username code of that person, I mean not his email, but at least a username code number that grindr files can relate to an email so that will inforce the security.

7. Uploaded pictures.

   It would be a good idea to be able to download my own personal pictures as it sets if I take cute pics and upload them I then have to retake those pics if I want them on my phone it's a lot of unnecessary effort almost every other app lets me keep my personal pics taken through there lens.

And the more you block/hide them the more it attracts to your profile and it's completely inappropriate for grindr to be used as a platform for them anyway it's not what gay and bi men are looking for. And it's not good for them either. Do you think it makes them feel good that 90% of the real profiles on here are not interested in them and don't want them on grindr? It's in everyone's best interest for them to have their own platform advertised toward them and men who are interested in them rather than tell the gay/bi community that we have to give up the platform that was designed and marketed for men looking for other men. Then there are the onlyfans.com jackasses. These guys many of whom advertise their only fans right in their profile which is clearly against your community standards who are so numerous and constant it's just maddening. No one is on grinder because they want to go to a different platform where the chat is not free in hopes that one of these again most likely fake guys will sleep with them in exchange for subscribing to their page. Do you know what the law calls that? The law calls it prostitution which is illegal in that way pretty much everywhere. Even in Nevada where it's legal its not legal like that. And that brings me to the conclusion of this lengthy rant that I doubt anyone will even read. That being grindr is doing all this why? Because the more people on the platform the more it's worth. You are bolstering your platform whith fake profiles and bots to make it seem bigger than it actually is. But bots and fake profiles don't pay subscriptions or buy merchandise or actually account for any real increase in value of the app in fact they devalue it because because it's annoying to your actual customers and has potential legal ramifications. So if you were to go and try to sell the company you would actually be intentionally misleading any potential buyer as to what the company is worth and what they should pay for it which is absolutely illegal as well. Grinder can do as they want I don't care at this point but don't be insulting by saying that you take any of this seriously when you are at least 50% of the problem. They may be your community standards rules and guidelines and not laws persay but there are laws that require you to follow your own publicly posted standards.

    And suggested partners should be grouped to health status.
    I know it's a bit restrictive, but better safe than sorry.
    And help people who are positive network better with people who are, based on levels, detectability, med schedule. I know people are disclosing, but everybody needs to get tested together.

    And it helps give each zip code a better support structure for when people find out they do have something.
    Grindr can sponsor local doctors.
    Home test kits are a good start, thank you.
    But, a proper doctor's visit can mean the difference sometimes.
    And they take more blood for the tests.
    Lastly, to reiterate............
    Bring more hepatitis vaccination awareness.

    Dear Grindr Safety Team,

    I would like to suggest some important safety features that could potentially protect users from serious crimes, including robbery, kidnapping, blackmail, physical assault, and other dangerous situations.

    I am a Grindr user, and I recently experienced a very frightening situation after meeting someone through the app. I connected with a person on Grindr, we exchanged Instagram accounts, and later made plans to meet. The person appeared trustworthy and friendly online. However, after meeting in person, the situation suddenly became dangerous.

    I was taken to an isolated area by the person and several other individuals. I was physically assaulted, threatened, and forced to provide access to my phone and financial accounts. They also attempted to create fake evidence against me and recorded material that could potentially be used for blackmail. I was threatened with serious physical harm if I contacted anyone or told anyone about what happened. Eventually, after money was demanded and paid, I was released.

    I am sharing this experience not to discuss the details of the incident, but because I believe dating applications can introduce stronger safety mechanisms that may help prevent similar situations for other users.

    Suggested Safety Features

    1. Continuous Safety Warnings

    Grindr should regularly display prominent safety reminders, especially when users are planning to meet someone for the first time.

    For example:

    «“Meeting someone from Grindr? Stay alert. Fake profiles and dangerous individuals may use dating apps to target people. Meet in a public place, tell someone you trust, and never ignore warning signs.”»

    These warnings could appear periodically rather than only once during account creation.

    1. Mandatory “Safety Check” When Meeting Someone

    When a user travels to meet someone at their location, Grindr could provide a simple safety check with three options:

    • 🟢 SAFE
    • 🟠 DOUBTFUL
    • 🔴 UNSAFE

    The user could select one privately.

    If the user selects DOUBTFUL, Grindr could immediately start additional safety measures without alerting the other person.

    If the user selects UNSAFE, the app could provide an emergency response option.

    1. Emergency Safety Button

    When a user is meeting someone for the first time, Grindr could provide an easily accessible emergency button.

    If activated, it could:

    • Share the user's live location with a pre-selected emergency contact.
    • Automatically initiate an emergency call.
    • Provide a direct emergency-services option.
    • Preserve important information such as the meeting location and time.
    • Allow the user to discreetly indicate that they are in danger.

    The feature should work discreetly so that an unsafe person cannot easily notice that the user has activated it.

    1. Code-Word Safety System

    Grindr could allow users to create a private emergency code word before meeting someone.

    For example, during an automated safety call, the user could be asked a normal question such as:

    «“Are you okay?”»

    The user could answer with the pre-agreed code word if they are in danger.

    A specific code word could trigger an emergency response without requiring the user to openly say that they are being threatened.

    This could be particularly useful when someone is physically unable to openly ask for help.

    1. Automatic Safety Call

    After a user reaches the meeting location, Grindr could optionally initiate an automated safety call.

    The call could ask:

    «“Have you arrived safely?”»

    The user could select or say:

    • Safe
    • Doubtful
    • Unsafe

    If the user doesn't respond within a certain period, the app could send an alert to their emergency contact, depending on the user's previously configured preferences.

    1. Trusted Contact / Safety Circle

    The app could then automatically share:

    • Expected return time

    with the trusted contact.

    This information could remain private and only be shared when the user activates the safety feature.

    1. High-Risk Location Warning

    If someone is being taken or is traveling toward a highly isolated location, the application could provide a warning such as:

    «“This is an isolated location. If you are meeting someone for the first time, consider moving to a public place.”»

    The purpose would not be to track users unnecessarily, but to provide an additional safety warning when there may be an increased risk.

    1. Stronger First-Meeting Safety Guidance

    Grindr could prominently recommend:

    • First meetings in public places
    • Sharing plans with a trusted person
    • Avoiding isolated locations
    • Keeping personal finances and banking information secure
    • Never sharing passwords or PINs
    • Leaving immediately if something feels wrong

    Most Important Point

    Dating apps are often used by people who meet strangers for the first time. A person can appear completely normal through messages, photos, Instagram, or video calls and still turn out to be dangerous.

    Therefore, safety should not be treated as something users have to search for in the settings. It should be built directly into the meeting experience.

    A simple SAFE / DOUBTFUL / UNSAFE system, combined with a trusted contact, emergency code word, location sharing, and emergency response system, could potentially save lives.

    I strongly encourage Grindr to consider developing a dedicated “Meeting Safety Mode” for users.

    The goal is not to discourage people from meeting others. The goal is to make meeting someone from a dating app safer.

    I hope Grindr's safety team will seriously consider these suggestions and continue improving safety features for its users.

    Hi Grindr team,

    I wanted to suggest a feature that I think could significantly improve the blocking and safety experience on the app.

    At the moment, when you block someone, they can potentially create a new profile and contact you again, sometimes using the same profile photos. This can make blocking feel ineffective, particularly when someone is repeatedly trying to contact you after you’ve made it clear that you don’t want further communication.

    It would be really useful if, when blocking a profile, there were an optional feature such as “Block future profiles using these photos”. With the user’s consent, Grindr could potentially use photo-matching technology to recognize the blocked person if they create another account using the same or substantially similar profile pictures, and prevent that account from appearing to or messaging the person who blocked them.

    This could perhaps work alongside other privacy and safety measures, rather than relying solely on the photos, since people can obviously change their pictures. The key idea would be to make blocking more effective against repeated attempts to circumvent a block by creating new profiles.

    I think a feature like this could give users much greater control over who is able to contact them and could make Grindr feel safer and more comfortable for people who are experiencing repeated unwanted contact.

    I’d really encourage you to consider something along these lines for a future update. Thank you for listening to the suggestion.

    It would be great for user experience, privacy and overall comfort if Grindr Extra users had the option to hide their profile from blank accounts or profiles without photos. Many of these accounts also have no age, no personal information or physical description, and are often marked as “recently added”. Adding this as an optional visibility filter could help users feel more secure and in control of their experience.

20. Option to opt out of AI Profile Insights

    I feel incredibly uneasy about the new AI profile insights feature and the Edge offering in general. I understand a desire to jump on the AI train, but this feature feels too intrusive. I’m not comfortable knowing a stranger could pay to find out information about my preferences that should only be revealed through private messages. I am selective with who I talk to, and what I state on my profile is as much as I want a stranger to know about me.

    At worst, I can see this feature misused by bad actors to gain information on the local LGBT population beyond our public profiles. $349 is steep for the average person, but may be justifiable to bot programmers, advertisers, or law enforcement.

    I personally do not consent to have my data used in this way, and may reconsider how often I use Grindr in the future depending on how the Edge features are handled. Mixing AI with sexual apps is a very risky game to play.

    I feel incredibly uneasy about the new AI profile insights feature and the Edge offering in general. I understand a desire to jump on the AI train, but this feature feels too intrusive. I’m not comfortable knowing a stranger could pay to find out information about my preferences that should only be revealed through private messages. I am selective with who I talk to, and what I state on my profile is as much as I want a stranger to know about me.
