why ads on spam
Why do I have to sit through an ad to report spam?
I am getting multiple spam messages a day yet how you design the app is that whenever you click into a message from someone new you have to sit through an ad before you are able to respond, or in this case report them. Allow us to report spam directly from the message screen without clicking into the chat. Unless spam accounts are actually Grindr's way of boosting engagement with this now frustrating example of enshittification

Reformat Ad Display/UI
We understand that Ads on the app aren't going anywhere for free users. We ask that you make the ad experience less dreadful and honestly less invasive. The ads shown on grindr typically make you wait 10-60 seconds (sometimes longer) before you can interact with the app again. Not only does this waste user time and increase frustration, but it essentially locks you out of your phone. Ads begin playing loud sounds unprompted, even in silent modes. The ads can't be closed without pixel perfect accuracy and many times open a new window in a browser without user permission.

I get it…free usage means ads. But that Evony ad echoes across the hills! I can’t always keep my sound off, and then my location is revealed to cock hounds in close range when I’m subtly checking my messages to confirm a railing appointment. The grunting men sound effects aren’t exactly subtle, either. Apply your commitment to discretion to your ads, and problem will be solved! …almost. Get rid of ads. But then capitalism fails, and then they start rounding up the gays.

Yall should also provide support for people who suffer from premature ejaculation (pe) This is a major issue I deal with and I was upset that yall help with ed but not pe, I feel like it only makes sense to help treat more than just one sexual dysfunction. It isn’t fair to help one party

A little less adds
I'm having to watch an add almost every time after I messages some one and back out the chat. Watch one when I view someone's profile. Sometimes i have to watch one when i first open the app. Its getting ridiculous. And maybe get better ones. Ones that pertain to grindr or similar too. Maybe even just give the option to pay for no adds and nothing else. Cause at this point I would.

Less FUCKING ads, like holy shit. You leave a chat? ad. You leave a profile? Ad. 15$ for 1 week of Grindr but free users get 150 ads
LESS ADS holy SHIT you charge people 15$ a WEEK in Canada for the extra bullshit HOW do you not produce enough money off that to not completely boggle all the free users (who also bring lots of money in by being forced to watch everyone of these fucking ads) makes absolutely no sense that I can’t view at least 5 profiles before being hit with 30 seconds of advertisement, when I JUST open the app and open a chat reply and leave it and get an ad that is actually fucking ridiculous. Dating Apps and Responsible Adds
As a leader in the dating app industry, your organization and organizational responsibilities include safeguarding minors, protecting them against sexual exploitation, exposure and assault.
That said, when Grindr runs advertisements that promote applications aimed at teens, run ads featuring teenage boys, you have fundamentally failed and should shamefully accept that you have put money above integrity. No organization that inherently protects minors, would allow ads to run that have any association with anything or anyone associated with minors in any form.
You have the resources to have entire teams that audit, approve and report your ads, so i will not…

Xtra and Unlimited user should not have to deal with ads. I keep deleting the ads in the messages tab about Grindr content/podcast or whatever: I pay to not have ads. It's ok if u show them ONCE. But every time I open the app the damn ad as a conversation is there: PLEASE, RESPECT THE USERS WHO PAY.
