1. Do something about the ridiculous number of spam accounts

   The number of spam accounts (mostly trans girls) has gotten completely out of hand. I get between 10 and 20 taps from them every single day! I spend more time reporting profiles than chatting with people at this point. It‘s genuinely ridiculous.

2. Customer service failures

   It’s hard to believe this workflow was designed by anyone who considered the customer experience or basic fairness. Suspending accounts, continuing to charge, and providing no responsive support indicates a serious failure in reasoning, oversight, and internal controls. This is not how a competent subscription service operates.

3. Interesting online games for the evening

   Me and my crew were scoffing kebabs at a night market, yarning about big wins. Decided to check out an online casino for giggles. Got onto Spinago Casino from Australia, and its cool look with heaps of slots and roulette is tops. Mobile-friendly too. Honestly, it was like a tasty wrap, made our night proper lively and buzzing.

4. Consent and NSFW pictures

   Educate on consent! Don’t promote assault!

   If a person has NSFW set to ‘Never’ on their profile, herein as the receiver, the following should happen:

   • A user sending a photo to the receiver receives a pop up dialog box informing them that the user does not consent to NSFW photos and asks the sender whether they would like to proceed with sending the photos.
   • The sender has the option to press “Yes - these photos are safe” and the photos would proceed to send. The sender could press “No - these photos are NSFW” and the photos wouldn’t send.
   • If the sender presses “Yes”, the sender would be additionally informed that sending explicit images would violate the consent of the receiver. A new dialog box would re-prompt the sender to confirm to proceed to send. (OR a warning similar to this would appear within the first dialog box).
   • The dialog box would also include at the bottom a hyperlink to a Grindr website informing them of consent when sending sexual imagery.

   To mitigate the risk of the sender violating the consent of the receiver and proceeding to send NSFW photos despite being informed thereof, the receiver should experience the following:

   • All photos received are subject to blanket censoring whereby a photo is blurred or hidden with the warning that a photo could be explicit. The receiver has the option to view the image should they choose to.
   • You could instead opt for an automatic screening protocol to censor images deemed NSFW but this would have to be done in a way that adheres to the data privacy of the sender.
   • If a photo is deemed NSFW when the receiver does not consent to these images, then the receiver would have the option to report the sender.

   The sender would also be pre-warned that clicking “Yes” in order to send explicit images would breach Grindr community guidelines by the violation of the receiver’s consent and that the receiver would be in the right to report the sender and the potential consequence of this for the sender.

   Grindr has an obligation to not only protect the consent of its users but also to educate those on consent too. This is why I think a solution which aims to only censor NSFW photos from users who do not consent to them on their profile does not solve the issue. The dialog box serves a great educational purpose to make users understand consent regarding the sending of sexual imagery to make the app and society safer for everyone in this community.

   If Grindr doesn’t choose to enact this, then it cannot be said that the highest priority of those at Grindr is to educate the community on consent and is instead complicit by negligence in the assault of its users in receiving sexual imagery without that consent.

6. Stop bogus users directing us to other URLs I g get as many scammer text on here as I do genuine texts.

   When something is so obvious that they are a scammer or directing us to other sites. Grindr needs to be far more efficient at removing these accounts.

   It takes way too long for moderation to kick in. With agentic AI and generative AI you should be able to do this pretty quick.

   In Colombia, it is common to see profiles that explicitly or subtly indicate they sell drugs, work as escorts, or offer sexual services for money. Given that you review and disapprove photos if they don't meet certain criteria, why don't you review the profiles themselves and more effectively penalize those offering such services?

    I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to suggest a small but helpful feature that could improve user experience. It would be great to have a “Not Interested” tap, similar to the existing taps like “Looking” or “Friendly.”

    Sometimes, responding to messages just to say no feels awkward, and blocking can feel too harsh. A simple tap to indicate disinterest would allow users to acknowledge messages without the pressure of responding or resorting to blocking.

    I read a lot of articles and posts on social networks regarding startups and how you should start your project to be successful. Almost every founder is advising to find one pain point and give a solution. Even if there are bunch of competitors geometry vibes, you need find one pain point and solve it in your product according to advises.

    That’s clear for me, how can I find that one pain point or problem shared by a group of people? Where should I look for the pain points of potential customers? Does anyone have an algorithm or a step-by-step framework for this?

    This app is supposed to be a place for us fringe folk to feel safe and make connections. Wholly impossible today with the lack of scrutiny employed by the operational team behind this app.
    More than half of profiles are fake, there is a high percentage of impersonation, users come and go with behaviour identical to a profile you’ve recently spoke with.
    Other social apps handle this much more effectively: shadow ban, account holds and authentication procedures.
    Please implement steps in order to ensure users are human

    As the original gay-app… it would be nice to see you uphold the statement by staying up to date and paying respect to your dedicated users.

    I’d like to recommend a feature to help reduce the number of fake or paid profiles, which can negatively impact genuine user experiences on the app.

    Problem:
    Many profiles in certain areas promote paid sex, paid massages, or ask for money, which goes against Grindr’s community guidelines and ruins the experience for users looking for real connections. Reporting individually helps, but it’s not fast or effective enough in areas where this problem is common.

    Suggested Solution:
    1. Introduce community moderators — trusted users within each area who can flag profiles that promote paid services. These moderators could be reviewed or rotated by Grindr’s team.
    2. Create a clearer system for users to report “Paid Services” like sex work, escorting, massages-for-money, or scams.
    3. Automatically hide or review flagged profiles if they receive multiple trusted reports — this would make the app safer and cleaner for everyone.

    Giving the power to responsible users in each city to help moderate content will greatly reduce scams, fake profiles, and unwanted experiences.

16. Only fully completed profiles should be allow to chat with other completed profiles

    Only allow completed users profiles (basic demographic data and a real picture, we can identify fakes with AI in no time so there's no excuse for profiles pictures getting approved with landscapes) profiles that are not completed can not communicate with profiles that have the data on their profile. Its very annoying to being increpated with a blank profile asking several questions about myself when I don't even know what kind of potential creep is looking at my profile.

    It’s really not that hard to detect a conversation where the first message is a web link and suspend the related account, is it?!

    It would be great if the Grindr product managers pulled their heads out of their asses and did the bare minimum to stop spammers before they annoy everyone. Users aren't (only) cash cows, respect their time and experience.
