3. So many bots lately!

   I live in a small city (250k) - the amount of bots (all with the same downtown/obviously VPN set location) is absolutely wild. Every single one of them is (of certain not-gay-man identity) promoting their OnlyFans through twitter/x or Snapchat/telegram. I’ve been an unlimited subscriber for 3 years or so - Grindr DO BETTER!

4. Remove fake and spam profiles

   It's ridiculous that you can report profiles that are fake and send links to go to this site but yet nothing gets done about it. What's the use of having a reporting system for this if you don't do anything about it. This app has gone down hill so badly that it deters people from actually using it. Get it together Grindr

6. Being Off-line/Incognito should be a human right within GR community

   I think Having the option to be offline should be an option at least from the basic paid plan. This unavailable tool of for basic PAID AND UNPAID plans might generate frustration, anxiety and depression to people. It doesn’t also feels also good to leave people « viewed » as humans don’t have the availability to respond that many messages coherently at once

8. Longer video chats

   Allow for us to call someone on a video chat and let it be for more than just one minute before cutting off the feed. It’s so hard nowadays to trust a picture and with so many people trying to catfish. It’s really nice and comforting to know that I could video chat somebody and make sure that they are who they say they are. Allowing just one minute, isn’t enough time to get a feel for somebody and really get to know them and get comfortable enough to wanna meet them in person. I think it would be safer for everybody involved and just a cool feature to have to be able to see the person live before you actually meet them

11. Filter out OnlyFans and Sugar Daddy bios

    So many bios are clearly indicative of bot accounts, containing essentially the same text. It seems like it would be so easy to vet these accounts. Many of them use the same pictures and create multiple similar profiles. Paying for this product is obnoxious when most of the taps I receive are from scam accounts.

14. Fake/spam profiles harming experience; need stricter verification and bans to protect user trust.

    Repeated fake and irrelevant (women/heterosexual spam) profiles are appearing on the app, which is negatively affecting the real user experience.
    Please take strict action such as permanent bans, better verification, and stronger filters. If this issue is not resolved, user trust and app usage will both decrease.

    I am constantly bombarded (multiple times per login) with bots trying to get me to go to a website. Now, (again—multiple times per login) fake trans girl profiles will trap me. It’s maddening. They’re using the same bad photos and changing the name each time: ashley, kelly, etc.

    Figure out your sh*t cuz your app isn’t cheap.

16. Include fields for preference details & consider consent forms

    I know there's a filter, that's not what I'm asking for. What I am suggesting is a behavioral barrier that acts as an identifier of a person's type.

    In the same way I am able to list my status, height, and tribes, I should also be able to list if I'm ok with people under 30 reaching out (I am not ok with it lol). I feel like there's potential to leverage the subject fields to at least cover dos and donts without taking up the character limit in the about me section.

    My suggestions are interests/age range/play style/distance

    Distance preference IE: We should have the ability to stop some random dude in California with palm trees in his profile from reaching out to us if we live in the east coast. Paying members should not have free for all access to free members without guardrails. Users should have the ability to opt-out from receiving long distance/unknown/unverified communications from would-be bad actors.

    I would also suggest an encrypted consent form that grindr can use to verify its user base. For example I am very transparent about my status as I want people to make informed decisions, but I also am generally not interested in anyone who isn't interested in me. So I prefer to connect with individuals who share my diagnosis as well. Its not simply a tribe or "into". Status and play practice should be included. That is the best way to deal with stigma. I am only recently having to navigate this myself, and I've decided I want to connect with individuals who would understand me better, and I want to be able to do it without playing mommy to someone and hand holding them through status disclosures and practices etc. These dudes can barely function past "hey"..."pic?"

    Behavioral style field identifiers and letting members opt-out from receiving communications from members who don't complete them accordingly should be the bare minimum.

    But I recognize that there are hippa concerns about forcing people to disclose that, so a consent form or even status preference field will at least help as a behavioral deterrent for trolls and impersonators.

    Most of my daily taps come from accounts with identical bios, the same OF link, and a stock photo that gets reused across dozens of profiles. Reporting them helps a little, but the same templates pop up again within hours. I work on data migration projects in my day job, and was reading through an ETL migration company site the other day — it described how much gets cleaned and filtered during a move before bad records land in the new system. So the same principle could apply at signup here. Would be great to hear from the team whether any validation runs there at all, or if moderation is reactive only. Even a rough answer would help those of us on the paid tier.
