Give warnings of any violation
After being a long-standing user of Grindr, making use of all it has to offer in a respectful and honest way, two days ago my account got randomly banned. No warning. My profile had not changed and in my mind did not overtly break the guidelines. I would like warnings on such drastic action please...as this would help users to rectify any unintentional violation of Grindr‘a rules or guidelines. Removing a users account immediately without warning wipes away the access to a supportive network of people that user has come to know and trust. It also isolates the user at a time when vulnerabilities are at their highest. In fact, in my case, it left me in potential danger as I was meeting with a person from the app and was on my way to meet them as my account got banned. I was traveling far to meet this trusted person. The removal of my account stopped me messaging this person. At that point, I was in a vulnerable position in an unknown place unable to seek help and reassurance from the grindr user I had come to trust. To my original point, please give warnings if a user inadvertently breaks the rules as simply removing them does not help anyone. Users need to know the errors in order to change behaviour whilst using the app.

Warnings are a great idea! Many banned users are confused or unsure about what lead to their profiles being banned, and they lose many photos and resources in the process. Grindr's world class customer support has done very little relieve user concerns in this area. Introducing this feature would reduce their support inquiries/costs and provide greater guideline clarity to users and ultimately lead to much less frustration and resentment for the app (negative sentiments which are continually growing). This suggestion is EXCELLENT but you can only lead a horse to water, right?

I was uploading a perfectly fine photo that an algorithm didn't like and was banned. I filed my appeal, and logged on to the photo still trying to upload. Immediately banned again. Filed my appeal, and was told my account was erased for solicitation. It was a face pic. Nothing wrong with it. No warning or sign i had done anything against community standards

Same happened with me. And the support infrastructure of grindr is so shallow that they were not able to recognise my number and email in their archives.
the ban was possibly for a foolish reason that I had put snapchat id for identity verification via video call. Also there are criminals on this app, to which they never strictly put a ban. i’ve written to them so many times.

Grindr show's once and again that it doesn't care about users satisfaction, it just cares about the money they are making by tons with very little investment, to mention any (like they didn't have money to afford it), in personalized customer care. It's an abusive company.

Since it is so easy for users to report other users and have them banned, there so be a penalty for disrespected a person wishes. If a person states on their profile that they do not want to be approached with inappropriate pictures, intended to be some form of a greeting, then that should be honored. It is disrespectful to invade a person space with unsolicited photos of body parts that aren't appealing to people. Some of us don't like that and feel that our wishes are purposely being ignore by some users who choose to ignore what's in our profiles. And you, the people behind Grindr need to know that it is not acceptable for you to say, it's Grindr and you get what you get. If this is supposed to be a safe space and a respectful environment, then the preferences and requests of users should be respected clear across the board. No more of this Grey area non sense. Disrespect is disrespect. And if a user chooses to ignores this, we should be allowed to report them ANZ Grindr should take appropriate actions.

Do not bann the profile out of the blue . At lest warn users two times before banning the profile . Let us know in which part are we violating the rules

Access to Grindr is a basic human right for a gay person. It is the primary format for sexual interaction in the gay community. Withholding or denying access to Grindr for an individual denies their access to and participation in the gay community.
Grindr bans are issued without fair process or governance based on arbitrary enforcement of vaguely defined rules. We demand:
- clearer and more specific rules, with examples and sufficient detail for a user to know what is and is not acceptable
- a range of punishment activities: including warnings and temporary suspensions of different lengths. Lifelong suspensions should be used only in the rarest and most extreme cases as they are profoundly damaging to the ability of a queer person to fully participate in the gay community
- clear information around the cause of any punishment activity undertaken by Grindr, including sufficient information to launch an appeal
- a detailed and fair appeals process, with multiple steps and an open and transparent format
- representation from the Grindr community in the setting of community standards and the appropriate level of punishment for each breach
- clear reporting on the frequency and nature of bans and other punishment activities undertaken by Grindr, including any patterns of bias by gender identity, race and sexual interest, to observe whether elements of our community are being unfairly overrepresented in grindr bans
- an ongoing commitment to further improvements to and refinements of the Grindr community standards enforcement approachDoing so will ensure that grindr is a fair and healthy environment, reduce actual rule breaking behaviour by providing clarity so individuals do not break rules and to ensure that grindr is an inclusive environment for all.

Being reported as abusive because I called the person out as a fake liar, they continually come up with a new profile and continue to contact me and then don’t like it when I reject them, it is them that needs to be warned!

It's because grindr brands and paints itself as a platform that takes reports seriously, even when most times people(users) report you for the pettiest things like ignoring them, or their insignificant feelings getting hurt just cause you won't give them attention. Grindr has definitely gone to shit, and it shows with most of the current users on there still..
They don't have a way to actually investigate matters, and now they don't even have proper customer support, just a robot emailing a script everytime
Grindr is just a failure of a platform, and that's why people are focusing more on other platforms like Scruff...
More than two weeks of appealing my suspension for impersonation and no word back
The people working on this platform are just as petty as their lame users

I think it's so ridiculous to bann people for minuscule reasons and no warning? What complete nonsense. Being banned should be for serious reasons and not petty grievance from an anonymous user.
