Race filters should be an option. I specifically list what I am in search of, but other races disregard that and bother me anyway. It's disturbing. I have zero interest in hooking up with anyone other than in my race. Reason being is because others disrespect my wishes and force the envelope anyway. Not interested.

Why can’t I search by racial background? It’s not racism to search by what your personal preferences are.

Like many others. I do not like being punished because somebody wants to control who I look at. For real, do you really think that will entice anybody to date you or hookup with you if you are not their type? I can and will date or hookup with whoever I want but it was nice having the ability to filter preferences. When I was looking for a black guy, it was nice to filter black guys, when I wanted a white guy, it was nice to filter for white guys. The same goes for Asian and Latino men. My subscription has been terminated and will remain terminated until Grindr re-instates something that I already paid for.

Sometimes I might want to search for a white guy or on another occasion a black or south Asian guy. This really needs restoring.

I live in a country where I am an ethnic minority. It is not racist if I choose to date within my own ethnicity. It IS racist to not give the the choice. No Ethnicity option, no subscription.

I agree, removing the ethnicity filter doesn’t mean someone is more likely to date someone outside their attraction preference. It’s no more discrimination than filter out people for their age, weight, height, body type or position. Especially considering you still allow us to designate our ethnicity on our profile.

Add back the filter for Ethnicity. This is a preference and has nothing to do with anything else. If you don’t add it back then everyone should get a refund on the upgrade price and free u limited blocks to block out the people you are not into sexually.

I understand that it seems racist to have a search feature based on ethnicity, but I'm a white guy who's really not into other white guys. I live in Iowa, and this makes it difficult for me to find people that I'm attracted to. I don't fetishize people who aren't white, and I don't think that white people are somehow inferior, I'm just not really into people that look like me. And in Iowa, that's a lot of people. Please bring back the feature, but maybe find a safer, more palatable way to phrase it. It would help me out a lot because Grindr is one of those apps that made me feel connected in a world that previously made me feel distant. When I could find people who I was attracted to, and that were also attracted to me, it made me feel like a part of something larger. Something bigger. Please restore this option. I miss having this growth and self-actualization in my life, and I miss being able to explore that. Please understand that this isn't coming from a place of bigotry, or racism in any way. I just miss having a way to interact with men I'm attracted to, from whatever different background, who don't happen to be white Iowa men. Please help me.

It's like this, A point in life has hit us all hard. I've never been racist, never will! Just strange how to many people call wolf and tell on themselves. No matter what or how much I do to help, I'm getting slammed for being white, and this is where we need to accept we all bleed red, why should one race get by with breaking laws when most our ancestors came to the United States having to learn English and the ways and the laws of the land. And I believe that's what it should be nobody should be rioting if they're not getting their way, a law is a law if you want to sit there and pick everybody apart because of their color that's your problem let's grow up and move on with life.

Yet I hear nothing about the boys/queens/men running around screaming they only want "BBC". So, I'm a racist ONLY because I'm not attracted to a specific type? But, I'm not a racist because I only WANT a specific type?

People need to grow the hell up and face reality. Not EVERYONE has to be attracted to "you".

There are plenty of other ethnicities on Grindr that say they only want their ethnicity... this isn't just a white person thing

I am black and I want to filter pass all the white dudes. I want to find non-whites.

However, the cancel of ethnicity filter made it so much harder for potato queens like me and other users with a specific type to find a perfect date. Therefore,I really hope you guys can have the ethnicity filter back to us.

As somebody paying $40 a month for the Unlimited plan, you should restore the ethnicity filter and let people have the option to search how they want.

Again, removing the filter option is one of those ways to please the caprice of White people.

As an Asian guy, I was turned down 90% of the time by guess who...White people...which iis totally fine but removing this feature makes it hard for me to look for other people who would likely accept or prefer someone like me.

I decided not to renew my unlimited subscription because of this.
