Grindr is apparently not going to listen to the people who pay for the app and keep it going. Why don’t we make another app the way WE want it? Very disappointed in Grindr seeing all the requests and they sit on their butt and do nothing

As a black man in the middle of the midwest. It's hard to find other black men. When I open the app the first 10 faces I see are white then there the faceless profiles. Oh look more white men. By the time I start to see black men I'm at the bottom of the list. There's hardly any POC’s in my area and I would like an easier way to find them. That is all people are saying.

Okay I didn’t say there are no preferences. You just can’t write off an entire race. When I walk into a bar I have limited people to interact with so there is a limit on how many people you can see. You said a bunch of nothing. Majority of people, including the smart people at grindr that get to do whatever they see fit, know exactly what you are trying to do. Go find an app that curates your little world view. Y’all will stay mad...haha

Comment below me fails to realize that even in person you filter out who you do and don't like based on even more. Someone may move a certain way you just don't like, so you don't approach them. However, there's no limit on how many people you can see. On an app that limits your profile views, not being able to filter against people I KNOW I'm not going to like, that makes absolutely no sense. There are people that are just out in public I know I'm not going to like even from a glimpse. The same thing applies to online and on dating sites/apps. Whether you like it or not, people have a preference for who they do and don't like and it may be based on personality, race, the way they move, the way they talk, or any other number of things.

As for trying to say "not having a race filter forces people to be people," that just makes no sense whatsoever. It's literally taking away people's ability to find who they prefer sexually. That doesn't make them be "people", that literally does the opposite. You may not like the filter, and that's perfectly fine, just don't use it. You may want to meet people of any race, any gender, any age, etc. Once again, that's perfectly fine. However, there are other people that do not want to meet someone over 30 (like me), that doesn't suddenly mean I'm "ageist." I just do not get attracted to them or find anything in common with them. Doesn't mean I'm suddenly here like "OH MY GOD WHY DO OLD PEOPLE EXIST."

These social justice warriors are getting completely out of control trying to force their view on everyone else and acting like suddenly it's "social justice" because they forced everyone to be their way.

Comment below me failed to realize that bars don’t filter entrance by race. IRL you meet all types of people and you choose who you fancy. How can you just go around writing off an entire race? Also, y’all pretending to make it okay because you like black guys is such a tired excuse. I am glad grindr implemented this change because it forces people to be people. Sorry you can’t go curating your existence! No instant gratification. You have to be human muhahahaha!

Bottom line we use racial filters every time we go to a gay bar.... im lookin for my taste and what turns me on... and its NOT white dudes.. no disrespect.. plenty of other white guys lookin for white guys... BUT not me... perhaps make the filter part of the extended subscriptions. Im just sayin... like it or not we like what we like SEXUALLY SPEAKING. And theres only so much real-estate on the phone for profiles... and if its always stacked full of white dudes... then what... Ill tell ya... Block, Block, Block, so much wasted time just Blocking... does this make ANY sense at all. I WOULD PREFER TO FIND WHAT I AM ATTRACTED TO WITHOUT HAVING TO BLOCK SO MANY PEOPLE. 3000 plus people are crying about their inability to leave their vapid bubbles. Sorry that you can’t limit your world to only seeing white people. There are bigger problems in the world and you are exposing your entitlement...

Another example of a company caving to the media induced hyper sensitive racial bias as not to “offend “ sexual preference is not racist! I think having ethnicity to choose from in your search is much less threatening than having to put in your profile that you are only seeking someone who is of the same ethnicity as you are! I have placed experimental profile text stating “masculine white male seeks same for fun” only to have every ethnicity but what I sought hit me up and even accuse me of being a racist when in real world I am definitely not. I have attempted to explain my preferences only to be called bigot racist etc. you are perpetuating the racial issues by taking it away and you are pandering to a movement that is exclusionary in its self. All. Lives matter just as BLM.

User have the choose to not use it, this is the only dating app that does not have this option, if your so offended it by it you need to not use this racist app then!

Maybe the 3,000 + people who like me are dissatisfied with this and are/have ceased our unlimited subscription should message the useless CEO about this.

Your silence on this matter is deafening, and yet you make a very loud political statement.

For that isthe only rational explanation for your initial decision to exclude this one trait in the filter, and to now refuse to address it.

I agree, not sure how its negative. I see it as a positive, I love all men and would like the option to search for various cultres/heritage.

Removing this filter must be the biggest PR failure in history. GRINDR is now the only app of this kind to not have this sort of filter.
