How insulting, to anyone who lived through Jim crow era! Such ignorance spews from the post modernist, Neo-Marxist agenda, and is perpetuated by the gullible left. They see racism everywhere!
With this logic, we shouldn't have a weight filter because that would be fat shaming ; or an age filter because that would be ageist. Or a sexual preference filter because.....well who knows. Heck, why not also get rid of photos. Better still, I vote to scrap this app, for it is inherently prejudicial.
Preference and choice are part of human nature -- get over it! It's what makes us unique and curious and desirable. Or should we cancel this too.
The hypocrisy of these people is nauseating and predictable!

Forget it...grindr doesn't care !
If they did, they would have the courage and respect, to address the concerns of their customers.
Instead they hide behind some woke, social justice warrior, ideology which is corrupting the very place where we come to have fun and escape this academic nonsense.
Grindr, why don't you stop cowering behind your ivory monitors and address the people!

Grindr is actively engaged in creating fake 'trans profiles'!
As a member of the trans community, I am appalled by this ongoing behaviour by the grindr team.
Nobody wants your meddling in something you know nothing about. We don't need you creating additional profiles to make it appear that there is a large trans community on grindr. Your manipulation is blatant, and insensitive; and only alienates our community.
Please stop it! Bring back the filter!

But I'm forced to scroll through white, asian, trans etc.
This also uses up the limited number of profiles that I have in my free account ; effectively rendering this app useless.
It's a dating app ; not a platform for social justice warriors!

The real question is: is anyone actually listening to these comments? I don't see any action or an attempt at addressing all of the many concerns stated here. Grindr's silence is deafening.

If ethnicity is restricted in filters then so too should be, age, weight, height etc. And not to do so is discrimination - using the same flawed logic!
In fact, there should be no options to add such descriptive details about a person in the profiles.
In fact there should be no photos.

Maybe we should all go on blind dates. Now there's an idea for an app.
I agree with @eventide --nicely put, and I don't feel the need to labor this further; after all, a degree of rational though is necessary for such a discussion, and yet apparently in short supply.
I will say though, @anonymous, you seem remarkably unaware of your own bias and prejudice.
