This comment is an ageist comment. And the 1826 votes show the ageism gay people have. What's wrong with a nice, hot daddy or granpa?? I say that as a 28 y/o. Just think about the words you use and how they effect swaths of people, and then induce anxiety in those people about their value to other's who they might be able to connect to.

I suppose it would only be fitting to also have the option to block users that are younger than your age preference.

I mean i have to agree with the outraged dudes. Ive seen people draw a hard line at 25....well im told i look 18-20 and have often had great times with ppl who put those age restrictions on their account. When they see me or talk to me, suddenly my 26 (27 as of yesterday... Ugh) years on thid planet are irrelevent.

You know what makes more sense? Blocking ppl certain distances. Im not on grindr to chat and it can be annoying to talk to someone you think is local only to be disappointed.

It’s thoughts like this, shallow and childish, that led me to being comfortable about lying about my age. Only by a few years but I commonly get people refusing to believe I’m 30 in real life. The average guess? 21. Median is closer to 20. Range is 19-27. I’d feel bad about it but I mean I’m not 16 using grindr to say I’m 18-20 and get others to commit felony level offenses with a now 10+ year statute of limitations. For the uneducated, I’m referring to statutory ****. Since 16 year olds can as I’ve sadly found out easily come off in person as well over 18 easily. They just don’t care or claim they’d never tell. Which as an adult who remembers what it’s like being a teenager I can confidently say hormones alone make that bs.
