You’d think this would be a good idea. I did initially. However, I’m on another site where a swipe to the left or right is required. About 90% of the mutual likes I get are from guys who have self selected me out of their preferred age range. So they’ve seen me, liked me on that basis regardless of age, and can write to me. But I can’t write to them. Your suggestion would work in one sense because I’d not see these guys in the first place. But there are lots of missed opportunities with this filter. I’ve suggested a swipe overrides pre selected filters as they clearly can’t filter out those users. Another story.

Just put it clear on your profile. So people will know your mindset and profiling

Like the invisibility option that Grindr now offers, we should be able to make our profile invisible with a filter option for example, being able to make it visible to 18-40 years old profiles only.

Get over yourself and pay and get unlimited blocks

Allow users to set an age limit that prevents anyone outside that set range to view and contact them. Only those users within the set range will be mutually visible and contactable.

I am over 60 and get constant taps and messages from guys.18 to 30.It's very rarely I tap anyone as I have no need too. Nevertheless less it doe's get a bit annoying getting messages from guys under 21 because you know **** well they are not looking to meet. They just want pictures.

Ageism is more unattractive than older men contacting you, sweet cakes. If you don't like it, do what the rest of us have to - block.

I agree, but from the other end. I'm an older guy, who is primarily interested in people younger than myself. Thus, I am always worried I am pestering someone whose profile specifically does not mention they are interested in someone older.They may be filtering by age, but that doesn't prevent me from seeing and messaging them. If a feature like this were implemented, I would only see profiles of younger folk open to my age range, and I Could select the age range that I want to see. , and who I want to see ME. Sort of targeted blocking. I would welcome it.

I wish. I’m a teacher and would love to block guys under 25 or so just to be safe. For this reason, I cannot use Grindr.

What next? Auto-Block trans people? Auto-block a race group? The people voting on this idea need an education on discrimination. A simple polite no thank you is all that is required, and if they pest you block them.
