Age filter
There's an age filter that filters the age I'm looking for. There should be an age filter of the age the others are looking for. It's easier to find someone looking for my age range.

What happened to the search by age ( to people that hide their age ) before you were able to find people by age even if they don’t show their age publicly now if you search by age and let’s say a guy is 30 years old but he has his age hidden he will not appear.. so these people are hard to reach
I like to have my age hidden because I’m closeted but I still want to be reach lol -

If you want to block older guys from messaging you then filter out anyone that’s in your age range and then block every profile you see lol. Don’t be such a prude and rather than block everyone so they can’t talk to you simply tell them they aren’t your type... much more of a respectable and “adult” way of handling that situation...

It would be nice to filter the people who viewed your profile by age. Something like "show me everyone under 40 that viewed my profile"

Gawd, in reading down through all these comments, I almost feel like saying: “if they want the age block so destitutely, good, give it to them and shut them up” - so long as my block feature works properly as have been having tech errors where blocked profiles reappear 24 hours later🙄 I don’t want exposure to haters in my online world: “asian only”, “black only”, “tyrannies only”,”twinks only” etc; gawd, the less trash for me to wade through, makes my search quicker
But from the bigger picture’s perspective, ageism doesn’t help the fabric robustness of our community’s culture now and into the future
-> Seeking those souls with genuine spirit here! Taking applications now! Get me out of singleness and off these dismal ‘“social” dating’ websites!

...and so out the window flew respect and value of persons deemed “too old”, along with the value of heirlooms & cultural heritage appreciation
“Let’s get rid of the pyramids because they’re old, nothing to teach. Let’s get rid of that virgin growth forest, it’s old. Why not blow up the earth it’s really old, I only like “fun new toys”
I think this person is living in a bubble
...one day we all own that older age, best start learning to interact now and ending elder invalidation and abuse
As recognised adults of accountable age by law on a no-minors website, irrespective of age scale perceived compatibility barriers, younger/ older/ senior, finding some old-fashioned common civil social manners and etiquette truly helps the world go round
Like come on people, agesim, “age ogar-monsters”, ...really??
like how about an immaturity filter, please, and diapers (nappies) with that

It seems that u removed the age filter setting. The filter itself seems still to be active, but I see guys in a certain age range (the filter I had before), while a friend sees all ages. Come on guys - you can do better than this, can't you?

Ageism rears its ugly head. You kids want the ethnicity filter put back, but you don't see that as racist. How about we add an IQ filter so that I only see people who know all the proper uses of the semicolon? Or a Adjusted Gross Income filter so that I don’t have to interact with people outside my socioeconomic circle? Where does it end?

Oh but you can take out a mortgage and probably get that feature

Same goes for messages from younger guys looking Daddies. An ability to only accept messages from those in a specific age band would be useful.

Would be good as a basic filter to save time and not offend others outside of age range as would know not to message

I’ve always thought it would be cool to have some sort of reverse filter. Say I prefer guys 21-40. Don’t just show me those guys, but prevent guys outside of this range from seeing me too. I suppose this could be a bit problematic for 40yo guys that turn 41...do they just disappear even though I may be interested or talking to them?

90% of the unwanted messages I get are from the 40+ crowd, despite my age range being clear in my profile. It never stops and frankly it’s disgusting.
+1 for age range message filters. This is a feature I would gladly pay extra for.

Ageism is entirely ugly.
Similar option smoker/non-smoker, drinkers, drug users, local/nonLocal, anyone with a www.***.com in the profile.
Endless List is possible.

Maybe profiles should have minimum and maximum age range by default
God only knows how shite I feel for flirting -

Yeah, but make it vice versa though for all the stupid, narrow minded, young idiots (who mostly are not even that **** themselves) who text me, although I am way above the range they have in their profile, telling me that I am an exception. No thanks, I don’t do stupid guys. Also, age shaming is a brilliant way to support division and make people lie about their age (cannot blame them).
You might not know this, but I can tell you young people: you are going to be old one day, too. -

No, age discrimination is not a violation of the Fourteenth Amendment. First and foremost, the Fourteenth Amendment only applies to government action. Grindr is not a government-owned entity, so it is exempt. You may be thinking of the age-related provisions of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, but those, too, would not apply, because they only apply to Employment and Public Accommodations. Neither of those apply in this case.
Normally, I wouldn't have responded, but that was just completely ridiculous.

This would be a violation of the spirit of Grindr's anti-discrimination policy. Age is a discrimination- protected status under the fourteenth amendment - what's more is the courts are liable to enforce removing such a filter under the TOS agreement- since the TOS doesn't define "discrimination" and the term is considered a "legal" term- meaning the courts will assume that the TOS incorporates the prevailing case law on the subject matter in absence of a clear and concise definition in the TOS contract.
