When I put in my real age which 52 I get 10 mags a day.when I hide my real age I get 100 msg a day.not kidding.what does it mean? Why is age so important given the info I just wrote.If there is a filter it should be based of attractivnrss ..not age which is so random

I think grindr can skip this question. even if hv an age filter, it isn't going to work because young ones pretend to be old and old ones pretend to be young.

So we all know that there are young guys who don't want to receive messages from older guys, but that there are also young guys who ONLY want to receive messages from older guys. Likewise, there are older guys who are ONLY interested in younger guys, and older guys who are not at all interested in younger guys. You'd think - wouldn't you? - that an app like Grindr would be smart enough to give people the kind of messages that they want. In the premium account, it is possible to set features of "my type" that include the age range I'm interested in, and that means that I only "see" people who are in that age range. But what it does NOT do, is give any indication whatsoever of whether the people I am seeing are interested in me. Unless of course those users have been clever enough to write the information in their textual profile (e.g., "Only want to hear from guys 20-30" or whatever). It would be great to have the "my type" fields performing a matching function, but that might only work with premium accounts. A better solution would be to have a mandatory field that requires people to fill out an age range of person in whom they are interested ... and that should include "any" for those who don't care about age.

Is anyone know why I can’t filter people let’s say from 26 to 26? Only range from 26-29 - unfortunately. I think maybe because I have too many messaging people and this is kind of grinder restrictions?

young gay boys who call people grandpas are rude. are you an immature frightened kid who needs to lash out with name calling. why not politely say you prefer your age group and stop hurting others by being cruel. age preferences are your right. being polite shows your social intelligence. aren't gay people supposed to be better than name calling? as gays we can and should do better.

I hate the new version of Grindr too. I would like if the age filter goes back to only one specific age instead of a group.

I’m not happy with the new update. The age filter works worse. I can’t search less people. Only people around me in the same city or area. Please return to the other update with we can look for the same age filter.

I agree. Also speaking of filters, every once in a while I'll go through and just block every profile i know i would have no interest in. It's to the point where i get to profiles 50+ miles away from me before I get to the "Xtra Profiles" So needless to say I've blocked hundreds of profiles. When people outside my age range message me i instantly block them

you can't filter ethnicity--that's racist
you can't filter gender/sex--that's transphobic

but you can filter age and body type: so ageism and body shaming are ok.

I live in an area without a lot of people i do not find attractive (for various reasons but usually because they are women or trans). So, I have blocked--no shit--at least 200 people. Isn't this what people do instead now? Since you can't filter you just block and reblock and reblock?

It should show the age with the photo on the main wall so we dont have to open the profile to check the age
