Sync chats and notes across devices
It's one account. It should work seamlessly.

I could be wrong here, but I believe that it doesn't sync across devices because all of the data is stored in realtime on the device and not the cloud. Scuff, on the other hand for example, stores everything in the could and that's why if you lose your phone and get a new one, all of your chats and photo load right back up. This is a business decision on Grindr's part and to have them change it means they would have to overhaul how the service works. I'm still voting for this anyway.

This appears to be a widespread common problem with your specific Grindr app software - appearing on both the Apple and Android platforms and not device specific.
Very inconvenient at times. -

It would be great if messages from both the sender and the receiver could come through on multiple devices even if the app is not open on other devices. I have two phones and have the app on both. However the messages and sometimes whole conversations don't come through on the phone that doest have the app opened.
If this could be updated it would be great. -

It is totally ridiculous that the same Grindr account on 2 different devices (cell phone and tablet) cannot be automatically synchronized! A chat made one day on the phone and chased another day on a tablet forces to juggle between devices to get a complete view of the conversation.

For the price of the premium app, it should, but does NOT sync with the iPhone and iPad. This makes for disjoint conversations. Why aren’t they listening to this complaint of their subscribers?

Please update the app so that chats and notes sync across multiple devices. Currently if I get a message or reply to a message on my phone I can’t view them on my tablet.

Would be nice to save chats if you upgrade to unlimited

Realized that I need to be careful which device I use to chat! It doesn't make sense to me that the devices back up the chats but don't sync. I work on a chat application (unrelated domain) and no offense, I just have a hard time understanding why this doesn't already exist

Automatically sync photos and messages across ALL devices. Come on Grindr, everyone else has it! Why is this such an issue?!

Grindr needs to get its act together. The fact that chats can not be synced across devices is RIDICULOUS! There are *pages* of feedback requesting to add this feature. Adam4adam already does it for free, Match.com does it, Scruff does it, KIK does it, and many more. Grindr is one of the more popular gay apps but the updates are never done in a timely manner. Customers have been asking for this feature for YEARS.

I would like to be able to read my messages on multiple devices. At this time if you look at messages on your phone they won't sync to another phone or tablet.

I think this might be because they think they are implimenting some for of security for our message data. They must be putting some kind unique ID for each device and do not allow the google saved data to move from device to device. Otherwise, it would just sync.
Come on GRINDR, fix this. Such a bad programming staff or management on this issue. Comments abound all over the web on this.

This has come up so many times in this thread and yet nothing has changed. Just like every other gay chat app, messages and photos should be automatically synced across devices. This idea was put “under review” several months ago. It seems rather essential.

I agree with all the below, especially with the outrageous fees you charge.

Completely agree. My chats don’t sync between devices. If I chat with someone using my iPad, and then switch to my iPhone, it doesn’t show my chat originally started on my iPad. Certain other competitive apps (Scruff) does this.

I am on numerous gay chat apps. They all sync between my iPhone and iPad. They are all free. Even the suck ass apps do this. Except for Grindr. And the backup idea is really pathetic. Reinstalling Grindr every time I use it. Really. Then I lose my chats anyway. Sad for you because I don’t want to lose my chats on my iPad, so I just use Jack’d when out of the house with only my iPhone, which is when it would be most useful. What’s the deal? Can’t afford the talent to write the code? Or just don’t care? There is no other excuse. Is anyone paying attention? Do you know that you are 9 out of 10 in customer satisfaction on huff Post? I am bummed because I want to like and use you more. Don’t you want to be used? Or is becoming a relic of days gone by good enough for you?
