Not having ads with sound
I get it, Grindr needs ad revenue but ads which randomly pop up and start blaring loud noises and sounds? Really Grindr? Is it really such a hard concept to understand we don’t want to have to silence our phones or risk having everyone in the building hear the ads?

Angry Birds ads are defaulting “sound on”. Isn’t this an Apple Ap violation? Why would I continue to use your Ap when loud, obnoxious ads blare during use?

They play sounds when iPhone is muted which violates Apple guidelines. Have they been reported to Apple yet?

It's been posted many times but I guess the more it is posted the more attention has to be paid to this. I'm quite happy to receive ads on Grindr, afterall, I don't pay for a subscription, however, these ads with sound are more annoying. This is especially the case when they ignore the fact that I have my iphone set to silent (it shouldn't be possible for them to ignore that!)
Annoying me with sound on ads absolutely will not drive me towards paying for a subscription. Dealing with those annoying spam and scam profiles that so frequently pop up is more likely to. Adding useful features that are part of a subscription will encourage me towards paying. Having these ads with sound is more likely to drive me to delete my account and stop using Grindr altogether. I suspect this is the case for many other users.
That's my tuppence worth.

The one-off “alert” or “chime” sounds were bad enough but not ads are coming through with actual songs? I just had an ad blast a version of a Macklemore song that sounded like it was recorded on a 2006 cell phone from a radio station in a car with the windows down...and it forced the podcast I was listening to to stop. Unacceptable. I wonder if the artists know these songs are being used on ads...I’m willing to bet their legal teams would have something to say about it.

If I mute the sound in the app then EVERYTHING should be muted.

I agree. It is dumb for a hookup app to allow loud advertisements to pop up and have loud noise.

Loud and obvious. so much for being discrete. Don’t mind adds but only app or websites te that does it. Not Isaac factor means I’ll use app less

There are many ads that just "play" when you are looking at a profile. I do not mind the ad to pop up, and if they NEED to run for the 15 seconds...ok. HOWEVER when they PLAY music and there is not a way to turn it off, this is very annoying. I have been in a movie theatre or other "quiet" places and checked my app. Looked at a picture, and POOF before seeing the picture, this MUSIC played for 15 minutes without any way to shut it off. I do understand that it is set to the "media volume" that you have set. However, who turns that down or OFF between uses.

Super annoying to get an ad that plays audio when sounds are otherwise off. Makes it a pain ********** to use at work or in a public setting.
Default setting should be muted with option to unmute.

Remove video ads with sound or at least mute the sounds by default until a user clicks on the ad.

Stop music in ads. I don't mind adverts, but if suddenly they play full volume sound I just close the whole app.

No full screen ads. No ads with sound. The worst thing is when you are looking at Grindr in a public place, lika restaurant, or the doctor's office waiting room and out of nowhere an ad comes on at full volume and no way to turn it off! Even if you could turn it off, the damage is done. Everyone in the is looking at you! You want me to buy a subscription? STOP PLAYING GAMES WITH THE UNSTOPPABLE FULL SCREEN ADS THAT PLAY AT FULL VOLUME!
