Not having ads with sound
I get it, Grindr needs ad revenue but ads which randomly pop up and start blaring loud noises and sounds? Really Grindr? Is it really such a hard concept to understand we don’t want to have to silence our phones or risk having everyone in the building hear the ads?

For an app that tries to be discrete, you sure know how to awaken everybody around with noisy ads. Thank you, “discretion”… 🙄

The most recent gaming apps are forcing me to not use Grindr. They are now appearing after each time I send a message and there is no way of coming out of them for nearly two minutes, you have to sit and wait all of this time for the little cross to appear before you can return to message/profiles...plus if the sound is up on your phone then the ads can suddenly blast out sound or music, not great when you are trying to be or need to be decreet on Grindr...suddenly everyone looks round if in public. Will be using Grindr less if these very invasive gaming app adverts continue and seek other dating/hook up apps with less user unfriendly ads.

Fix error that allows ads to play with audio when volume is set to silent. Fix the error that allows ads to play in the background with no ability to control sound. For the love of God, fix this loud ass ad issue that has left me embarrassed AF many times.
Also, more queers less monosexuals 😘

Agree this is the worst feature of Grindr. How can you be "discrete " when sex ads start playing from your phone out in Public. Do you hate your users, Grindr? Your business decisions go against all common sense and logic.

If my phone is silenced and I have sound in the app turned off, there should be ZERO SOUND coming from an Ad. You are causing people to be woken up and people to get in trouble at their jobs with this huge annoyance. Take the fucking sounds off.

My sound on grindr is turned OFF what don’t you get about that? Fix it.

As noted, this is a VERY HUGE issue and needs to be the #1 Propriety of Grindr to address right now.
No ad should have sound enabled for any reason, leave it up to us to choose to listen to a specific ad if we want to.
At times, multiple ads sounds will play at the same time.
It makes it impossible to trust Grindr when you don't know if it will "out" you because of ads automatically playing sounds. You cannot open Grindr in a quiet area for fear of loud sounds from the ads, especially porn ads. The mute "button" rarely works in the first 2-3 seconds after the ad sound starts. It feels as if Grindr is trying to force us to buy ad-free subscription to fatten their pockets instead of making a safe environment for guys to meet other guys.
Disable all ads until mute is the standard setting for all ads and the ad can only be unmuted manually instead of only muted manually. -

What asshole thought audio ads were a good idea? They're trying to get you to buy a ridiculously overpriced app. Fuck you! I can't wait for better alternatives to surface! This app is literally trash!

The app is so buggy I literally have to completely close it then re open it just to send messages. I realize you don't care about us but can you stop the constant double ads!?

Why is there music from ads playing out loud from this app. Please remove this or give someone the option to listen to it, it shouldn't just play loudly on its own. You guys are well of the amount of discrete people that use your app, I don't think they'd be happy if it randomly played loud in a certain setting and someone saw he was on grindr and called him out. Please fix this as soon as possible.

That's totally ok that we suffer of ads while we are not paying.
But, at 5h30 am, while I was checking a message as not sleeping, one of your super annoying (not to use another word) ads launched out loud waking up my friend with whom I sharing the same room.
It is too often that your ads is playing sound, it is never expected and cannot be anticipated. That's totally disrespectful of your users. This is annoying, way too much intrusive and not discreet at all. -

Literally almost in-usable due to in-app ads now. It’s one thing having ads when you’re scrolling the grid, but having random ads pop up that you can’t close without re-loading the app makes it completely unusable. Going to slowly use a lot of users due to this.

The ads pop up like crazy. You look at one profile and an ad pops up! That is ridiculous!!!

Adverts that ignore the device settings are extremely off-putting and insipid. When my device is on silent, I expect all apps to honour that setting because loud sounds could be potentially dangerous for individuals in domestic violence situations and could also alert family members or colleagues to the user having the app loaded onto their device. Not very discreet and not very safe for users.

Put the button Mute unMute for ads. It's not so hard to do, please

I just report the ads and filed a complaint with Google as I'm pretty sure this is fraud period playing ads when your phone screen is off is extremely shady as they are getting paid for that when no one is even looking at the ad. That's why they could care less. Then again you also flag a profile where the person is selling drugs or is half naked in their profile picture and weeks later it's still there.
