True threats are a criminal act, and thus a law enforcement problem. You should go to the police about this. That said, you might want to stop and think about your actions that may have brought this on, and modify your own behavior as well.

The thing is that the "We can do whatever we want" stipulation has a limit- and that limit is that a contract cannot allow the commission of a civil tort or a criminal act, without being null and void on its face, and in it's entirety if there is no severability clause. Thus, the best way of handling this is for someone to file a lawsuit which will make them think twice.

Here’s an idea (from someone Grindr recently bans for no reason)... no more bans! How about infractions instead, of downtown uses a a tree emoji to express their love of the outdoors and save characters, but Grindr interprets it as something else, the user gets a message to change it instead of flat out being banned. How about when you message customer service about a ban they actively try to help you instead of copy and pasting Grindr’s “we can do whatever we want” stipulation. Grindr has an “F” rating on the BBB, so they think they can keep that up long term? Nah

Grindr is not doing anything at all to prevent fake profiles being created (again and again and again).

They know the problem very well, but appear to conciously choose not to fix things. People can use fake email to register, link to you Instagram without you knowing it (it's a one way link) and when they get blocked they just start over.

Plenty of options for Grindr to take action to make the platform more useable, as now in some areas there seem to be more fake than real profiles and meeting up is not happening at all.
Aside fdrom that they need to protect the identity of people that are not even on the platform but whose pictures are abused.

Start with verification of the cell-phone number do when somebody is abusing the platform they cannot simply make a new account.
Then add photo verification such as the one on Dudesnude (which doesn't mean the verified picture needs to be visible on the profile, you would be able to send it to prove you are real), then add a way of indicating that you know someone in real life, such as PlanetRomeo has implemented, do bi-directional linking of social media platforms like Instagram such as implemented in Tinder and others.

If Grindr really wants to do something... They can.

I have blocked someone over 20 times and reported his threats and harassment a few times since 2017. He just creates a new profile and continues his harrassment. This needs to change so they can't another account when they been making threats. 3 years I have dealt with this. once someone is harassing another they shouldn't be allowed on here at all.

This is very odd.... I have no idea why my photo is rejected because of copyright infringement. I don’t expect there’s any similar pics here. I suppose there is something wrong with the machine learning algorithm. Please check!

I think their is a massive opportunity for grinder to be the best, be a community that has good values and puts users safety first. With no user verification that works and is effective you are letting your app users down.

I’ve had someone use my photos to make multiple profiles and they put HIV+ so now I have to send a picture of my test results and video call every guy that I talk to. This needs to stop. Safety should be your number 1 priority. What are you guys doing with your overpriced Grindr+ revenues?

Display picture keeps being rejected. It follows your guidelines and is funny. I’ve seen much worse posted such as drug use nudity the works! Why am I being singled out for something so innocent? I have been assaulted through this app and need some discretion with the photo I’m trying to use!

People who get harassed, threatened, after they report this behaviour, they don’t only get ignored and not helped at all, they also get banned device banned.
You try to plead for your ban and the only thing the support team does is giving you a tap in the back and telling you good bye.

First of all, a better report review team, second of all if someone believes they account has been banned by mistake HEAR THEM and allow them prove they were banned by mistake if they show evidence.
They keep saying they care about us and want our safety but then when you report the toxic behaviour, you get banned.

To me happened the same thing as the person below my comment. They banned me saying that I breached the community guidelines, when I didn’t. Tried to create another account which got banned directly and they kept telling me they reported that account which doesn’t make sense. And kept sending me this copy paste message saying: YOUR BAN WONT BE LIFTED. Or Grindr can remove your account wether they have a reason or not :). Good bye.

Such a nice support team wow 😍😍. Funny thing is that my friend got his account banned too because he logged into the Grindr of my phone once. So his iphone got banned at the same time than mine. He got the same answers from the support team that I got

Grindr needs to get this problem under control. No one cares about some discreet guys wife or whatever he has on the side. Please verify all accounts before they can be made. Other apps verify and that stops multiple problems: solicitation, under age users, bots, etc.
