Hi... i am a subscribed grindr user.... it’s a great experience being here and have helped me meet nice guys.... both for fun as well as friends... thank you!
Many times, guys here ask for pics (face, body and most of the time **** pics in my case as i am top) and then once they get the pics... they say nice and then block me instantly. Perhaps they don’t have the courage to say that they don’t like or something i can understand!
But once they block us we can’t see them anymore.... it is difficult to know whether these people are genuine or not. Perhaps they take our pictures and trying to lure others guys. I just happened to know from a friend of mine (*** buddy) that he saw a **** pic of mine from another guy..... since we know each other well, when he showed the pic.... i was surprised as well.... but the profile user already vanished again blocking my friend.Any comments or support on how to avoid this?

or ... now hear me out on this... maybe ... just maybe... a profile pic should be mandatory to be a member on grindr. Many Many sites do it with no hassles fuss or muss.
heehee just saying

The fake profiles are getting out of hand. If people can rig our election, you should be able to block fake profiles. Geesh!

People should have to verify their identity submitting a picture of their government issued ID, Drivers License or Passport and it should match the person in the profile picture they’re using. Just like certain cam sites do to make sure everything and everyone is legit, legal and who they say they are. It’s time to put an end to the catfish nonsense.

Fake profiles (whether spam/bot or someone catfishing) are a huge problem, I see it all the time and reporting them does nothing. You need to implement some kind of verification system, preferably more than just one. Start with needing a verified e-mail, one account per device, and go from there. It is very possible to get it under control, but you have no desire to do anything but collect money.

Grindr should disable the accounts reported as Fake Scammer profiles. Sick of seeing them active for weeks after reported. Hire more techs to deal with the fake profiles.

Several photos that are well within the guidelines have been rejected, but I see some of the DIRTIEST profile pictures. I guess maybe just better moderation on the photos.

Yeah, unfortunately, being gay isn't safe in a LOT of places AND/OR countries. You CANNOT force people to show their face on Grindr, just because they wouldn't be alive for long in more than some cases. The verified feature is also hard, because some don't even trust their face to be on Grindr servers, they just refuse to upload them and most of the time prefer a whatsapp video call. Good for you if you don't risk getting battery acid on your face where you live, but I think this one is never gonna happen.

THIS! There is ZERO problem linking an APPLE/GOOGLE Device ID to a profile without any compromission to anonimity. Help us get rid of all those horrible escorts and scam profiles popping up so fast we can't block them fast enough...

I pay for XTRA and I think it would be fair for us XTRA users, that there was an option "Search for other XTRA users ONLY". Catfishies and fakes often waste my time and most likely don't want to pay for XTRA. If someone's pretending to make good money and is sending holiday pictures from the Circuit party and doesn't want to pay for XTRA at least they could explain why not. Would be a great conversation starter! "Appear visible for other XTRA users ONLY" would be a great option too.

I find it funny you can’t post a nude pic but you allow postings with asking for money or generous and allow post that say party g and molley you can promote drugs and escorting but can’t show a butt or ***** pic that’s screwed up

Yes, PLEASE add this. There are so many other social apps that have developed such a secure platform, and one that's not filled with bots and catfishers. I'm no engineer, but It mind boggles me why this can't be done in 2018.

This would help with all of those accounts that keep telling me to go to a website for ***** guys in my neighborhood

We are all adults here right? i am!
I know that when I come across a profile on Grindr that I’m not interested in, or maybe I disagree with that person, or even if i’m offended by that person..
If they want to look for generous guys
if they want to do drugs,
If they want to have unprotected ***,
If they want to be racist🤷🏼♂️ it’s none of my business.
I don’t care- I certainly don’t judge people and resort to reporting them for doing whatever it is they do
💡 I just block that person & move on.
I think we should all practice better aduling and just moderate Grindr ourselves.

Yes! I was just catfished & we NEED some form of verification. People are ruthless and will do absolutely anything to get what they want. It’s very sad, though measures like this would help astronomically.

Good luck with that, Tilghman. Google the name Matthew Herrick and see all the articles of what he went through with someone impersonating and stalking him and Grindr, despite the guy submitting 50 reports on the app and filing police reports, basically twiddled their thumbs. They don't enforce anything and they don't care about anything except making money. That's the kind of company we're supporting by using or paying for the app.

There are too many blank profiles. Grinder should go the way of face pic first. Then verify and then proceeds to finish profile. Maybe a two day setup process for verification reasons

If you're facing trolls online, note that in your settings, you can elect to turn off Show My Distance. Also, Grindr intentionally fuzzes the distance randomly, so that it cannot be used to locate a specific person. And, as always, please report accounts for threatening behavior, before blocking them.
