Ask Scruff how they keep spammers, bots, and fakes off their network.
Been on Scruff for many years.. NOT ONCE have I seen a fake profile. -

This is actually a really simple one that they should have always had. Good call

Thomas: they disabled zooming, in order to enable multiple photos on your profile.

Make everyone verify by credit card and cell phone text message. This shouldn't be so difficult. Make EVERYONE pay a $1 verification fee. If they don't have a credit card, good bye. Most people on here don't want losers that don't even have a credit card. This will get rid of the Spam that is getting worse every day. I'm about to cancel because it's getting annoying. And now that you took away zooming in on photos.. W t f is that all about?

I spend more time reporting spam than chatting with real guys.

I feel this is imperative to safety. First thing should be done is to verify the email address suplied and make sure it is avtually valid, then send a code to the email address, the person writes the code on a paper holding it up in the mirror taking a selfie. Dudes nudes has been doing this for years now, and even piggy backing and taking their idea, if you want options... Just leave it options to verify and have a icon that appears on the profile, saying that they are verified.

I totally agree! I block people for reason, no need for them to pop up the next day with a new profile. The same goes for profiles grindr bans, for example *** workers or people selling drugs, they are baned today and I see a new profile tomorrow... Mobile phone number verification would work perfect...

Hi,
Please block and prevent anyone selling or proposing “chems”, at least in France! Those are illegal chemical killing drugs and the French-Paris gay community is dying out of it because it’s too easy to get access to those killing drugs. But that’s not a reason for Grindr to become more and more a chems-drugs selling platform! I’ve reported so many drug dealers (see my profile) but they come back with the exact same picture and same description proposing drugs! This is, not only illegal, but criminal from Grindr! People are dying from it !!! I like Grindr but if the situation does not change within 2 weeks, I’ll go to French AND EUROPEAN Court and ask for the app to be fully and completely blocked as a full drug dealer “on line” and be punished for it! Beware! Act or I’ll do!
Kind regards,
Carlos De Oliveira

Yes, I need this. I'm TIRED of guys with no face pic contacting me to send their pic only after I answer them and reveal they are (very) unatracttive. If the guy don't have any face pic, you can KNOW he is unatracttive.

Using email-addresses and complicated phone number workarounds is just so last season. Using snapchat style instant photo would require no third-party apps or anything.

That Grindr find a better way of identification choice, like scanning driver's license and email it?

The most easy and effective way to verify someone is to have an "instant photo snap" feature on Grindr itself, similar to that of Snapchat. The selfie is taken at that very instant with the user's camera, so the user cannot send a photo from library, thus making it very difficult to appear as someone else.

The verification with phone number is more than enough. WhatsApp has been doing that for years and it works.
To have a new phone number in most countries you need to buy a new chip and activate it with your respective documents. That would be enough to find anyone AND to stop the spread of fake profiles.

Facebook is the WRONG way to verify users. First, anybody can set up a fake Facebook account. Second, many people do not have, and do not want, a Facebook account. They could at least have some kind of CAPTCHA or whatever when new accounts are created, that might slow down the number of fake or spam profiles. Or use the phone number of the user, send a verification code via text message.

Stop trans escorts and scammer and their repeat profiles. Reported profiles are up for over 15 hours and repeat profiles are abundant. It's a joke.

Passport Identification number perhaps? Because fakes can just bypass it with numbers.city < virtual phone agency website

Allowing users to use nonexistent email addresses is an invitation for spammers and fake accounts, which are already plentiful.
A more intelligent way to reduce these types of users and provide a safer environment would be to use phone verification like Tinder and many other apps now do.
The prevalence of *** workers in Grindr is astonishing to say the least. Reporting them is a waste of time, not only are those reports mostly ignored but if those violators are banned they quickly create a new account using a fake email address.
Talking about moderators, it's amazing how many profile photos violate your community guidelines, seems there is a great deal of inconsistencies amongst moderators. Most of these profiles are of young guys, which I suspect Grindr is biased towards. Maybe you should consider the fact that these younger users seldom take up subscriptions. Us older folks are continually harassed by moderators who are petty and not very frindly.

And stop the people that can send a message without marking yours read somehow.
