Taps optional
The ability to disable the tap feature from your profile. This way if you do not wish to recieve taps, other users have no way of tapping you.

This would be great. Allow users the ability to enable/disable the "tap" feature, based on their personal preference. Adam4Adam offers this ability to its users for their "smile" feature - those who prefer a written message over a one-button grope can opt out of receiving "smiles."

Ability to turn off would be ideal. But a different sound alert for taps would be useful also to distinguish between a rea message and a tap!

Taps are annoying and passive aggressive, just another menu I have to switch to and delete messages on, and now with the message delete confirmation it takes even longer. Making me close to deleting this app.

When I tap another user, please leave a note on their account or some other way to identify if I’ve ever tapped them before.

Get rid of the ‘Tap’ feature. It’s used primarily by bots.

Perhaps a preference to be notified or not of taps, separately from being notified of messages

The tap feature is annoying from the start, but now with the new feature that they are not in order by time of being received, is making them even more annoying. I now seem to get notifications again from a 6 day old tap - just because they are close by? This tap thing is getting out of proportations and seriously making grindr annoying AF. What about making it optional if you want to have taps included on your profile?

In my Grindr experience, the “taps” function causes nothing but annoyance. I’m inundated by fake profiles all saying the same thing...on peacekeeping missions to Afghanistan and the like. Is there a way to opt out of receiving taps? Honestly, it’s the most annoying feature on the app, and it’s causing me to seriously consider whether I’ll continue my Grindr XTRA status. -

Get rid of taps they are ridiculous when no one speaks after.

I consider taps to be a compliment, especially when you otherwise have a lot of single messages cluttering up the chat (messages which are never replied to due to people ignoring). If you tap each other, however, you can be reasonably certain that you can start and have a meaningful conversation.
Just deleting a chat is non-optimal, as you might message that person again, not seeing that you did so previously and got no reply. And THAT is also repeatedly cited as an annoyance to the receiver.

Why don’t people complain on Scruff about ‘Woofs’? They don’t. It’s a harlmless and quick way of basically giving someone a wink showing they’re interested. How is that annoying? Just ignore it if you’re not interested.

some guys just don’t like being tapped. Can you provide a feature to enable these guys to switch off tapping on their profile?

Xtra subscribers should have the freedom to shut that stupid **** off with the swiftness of a tap!
