Log Out Option
Users would love to have the ability to log out from Grindr without having to reinstall the app.
iOS users in our recent Grindr version 4.3.0 can now log out from the app without deleting it!

It’s ridiculous that we can’t sign off temporarily. Some of us have jobs!

No one wants to be on Grindr all the time, so it’s logical that a user should logout and login whenever they want to be available to the network.
Simple —right? That is a good feature—right? SO WHY THE F**K IS THIS NOT AVAILABLE ON IOS?
Grindr made this hook up app category but poor business model to keep this right to privacy out of your product’s basic functionality.
Fix it = user wins = Grindr WINS.
Ignore = users leave/join alt app + user centered privacy =Grindr LOSES -

Why can't people log out of Grindr without uninstalling the app? For the longest time we could not delete TAPS. And you people want us to pay for this nonsense?

Any idea on when this may be available for ios users? Deleting and Reinstalling is a little bizarre for an app such as this

If this feature does not change I will stop using the app it’s ridiculous that one would have to uninstall an app just to log out. I get bombarded by messages all day long even when I close the app

This is basic, should have been an option from day one!!! I want to be able to log out, or be invisible when either at work or on vacation or in places where I can't "play" or don't want to "play".
Sometimes I just don't want people to contact me. If I happen to just let my niece use my phone like the other day, she's two and clicked on random apps. She clicked on this one even though it was in a folder on a third page...kids are smart...next thing I know I'm hearing ping ping ping ping. I had to hear her cry as I snatched the phone to force close the app, and still heard pings as more messages and taps came through.
I don't want to delete the app and lose all of my messages as that's the only way for me to distinguish who is who by the conversations and photos we have distributed to one another.

Did your “programmer(s)” go on vacation? Why is this only functioning for Android and not iOS? It seems like nothing is happening. You created this platform for users to submit, comment, and vote on their favorite feedback ideas and only maybe 2 and half new features have been added. It can’t be that hard to find better app developers. Hopefully the users will start seeing more progress soon.

You can log out now without installing the app. However after logging out is your profile still visable on the grid?

I learnt the Andriod user seems got the log on/off function, if the IOS users entitle to get this function will be great
I don't know you guys tried your got grindr msg notification during work, which you are not using this app but just switch on the gps for other purpose.
It's quite annoying and look like we are impolite if we ignore those msgs -

Yes, what about iOS?
It’s been said ad nauseum that there needs to be a way to remove yourself from the grid so that it’s possible to login and check messages without broadcasting that you’re available. The fact that this app doesn’t have that function is the source of a high amount of frustration. There are already enough inherent barriers to dating/hook up apps. There is enough rude behavior already. This just adds to all of that, as when a user signs in to check messages, then suddenly people are trying to chat or tap. The only choice is to ignore (which is what usually happens) or chat when a user doesn’t want/have the time to. This contributes to the general coarness of the gay community, which is stunning: An app made for gays by gays is making things worse for gays. This should have been fixed a long time ago.

Can you make the app so that I can log off from within the app instead of having to delete the app every time? Having to delete the app to log off is a waste of time and causes me to use other apps instead that I can keep on my device.

What about for iOS users? We need to be able to logout or go into stealth mode so users don’t see us as online.

How is this not already a feature? It’s so frustrating to see how lazy the folks running Grindr can be! So much wasted potential.
