Send Screenshot-Restricted Photos

There is no way to guarantee you detected 100% of screen shot (same applies to disabling screenshots - someone suggested that in a comment). You might detect MOST but NOT ALL screenshots on an Android phone, as a determined person will be capable getting the screen capture using 3rd party apps. I see no viable way of doing this with the just released web version - web.grindr.com for desktop platforms?
Next you will want to know when someone does a copy and paste in chat conversations. If I do a screenshot for my own personal records there is nothing you can do about it. However if I disclose that picture publicly you have every right to take out legal proceseeding about the DISCLOSURE not the capture. You can't take back sharing your photo. Oh wait... you can, just do a block/unblock of person and chat and photos are erased - why don't you just do that instead.
There a legitimate reasons for keep track of shared photo, conversations for example: you think the person might be less than truthful and you want to be able to prove it at a later date; you catch someones partner cheating; there is a problem in the app and emailing a screen shot is far easier way of explain it with tech support; your hookup visited you and stole something - police could sure use a face photo.
Not everyone you on the net turns out trustworthy so I see no harm in keeping a record of my hookups. I too have done a reverse image searches from screenshot and confirmed catfish profiles which I then blocked (They are blatantly fishy stories about in the military .. on deployment...picture looks like a model.)

I take screenshots of pics, map, addresses, phone numbers so I have a visual record of the person in case I needed it. It's a way of protecting myself. There are many alternstive ways of grabbing , copying , saving the screen if I had the intention of using pics to create fake accounts or whatever else. Wasted Money, time, resources in my opinion

Wrong decision to block screenshots!! WRONG. WE WANT IT BACK

What a silly thing this is. A screenshot can just as easily be snapped by another phone but (i) if you sent a pic or postit on the world wide web you cannot complain and if somebody takes one and it gets back to you that they did you are powerless.

They should not allow screenshots of messages and photos period!

Please do not implement the screenshot ban, sometimes, the only way to verify if someone is a catfish is by screenshotting their profile pic and doing a reverse image search. I have caught many catfish this way and also informed the Instagram accounts from which the photos were stolen!

Screenshot feature is important for us to check and recheck the object with our circle. Of course every feature has downfalls. But blocking screenshots is totally a wrong decision.

I also screen shot for my personal use. It is also in case a fake profile blocks me before I can report the profile, I can send the pic with that included a pay web site address imbedded in the picture to Grindr.
This needs to have a Down Vote to see if it really is the majority that wants this feature. A lot of the comments are against the idea, and we have no way of knowing how many people don't like the idea.
Please DO NOT implement it without giving those of us against it a chance to vote NO on it with a button under the Vote yes button.
A screenshot is also useful if someone threatens you. You can make a record of it that can be used for law enforcement. Alerting the sender will only jeopardize the safety of others. And in the case of real predictors, a screenshot could be used to identify them by law enforcement.
If you are afraid of someone taking a screenshot anything you send or text, then don't send or text anything you are afraid of being used against you. -

Okay great, so we're notified it was taken, that's it? How about the account taking screenshots face some sort of consequence? Oh right, you guys don't care. They'd just be back in a few minutes with a new account because you don't have proper verification or limits per device. Hopeless as usual.

Guys please take a look on other gay dating apps. Like BLUED for example. This feature only allow us to know when one's screenshoot anything from our chats. It's not blocking them to do so. Probably if you want to make it better, i think it would be like this. When someone screenshot anything from us, that would be an alert. That would be good too if we can select whether the app shall process the screenshot or not. If we click yes, the person would receive the screenshot to their phone. If we click no, the person would only receive a blank screenshot to their phones.

Most of these fake profiles use pics stolen from other sites such as Facebook. Grindr doesn't care as it is a Chinese company
