I feel like grindr has become more of advertising platform rather than a enjoyable experience. Please reduce the ads to an extend where users are not getting frustrated and choosing to leave the app.

You've ruined this app
I met my husband on this app 14 years ago. Boy how terrible it's become. Grindr is the epitome of late stage capitalism. Investors and PE have ruined this application, it's barely usable anymore. How tragic.. they've sold us out to the highest bidder in a race to the bottom. Why do we even use this app anymore? For the love of God, please fill this hole in the market with something thats actually usable. We deserve better...

There are ads and I understand the functionality of them but some ads can be very long and they get more and more frequent. It's like watching an infomercial. I suggest that Grindr give a choice to view one of these long ads to gain something else in the process. Like expanding your search by (x) amount of profiles, or to give you a temporary profile boost, or even viewing the locked profiles that have recently viewed you. remove the large ad plis
Place this ad between the photos. When I scroll through the photos I see the ad. It is an opportunity to place more ads and they will be less invasive and can be related to items in the photo that was or will be viewed.

Grindr is a boner killer
The fact ads appear when you first try to reply to or text a guy when you log on AND the app punishes you AFTER the ad to ask you to pay to NOT get ads. I CAN’T afford it and am in the habit of opening Grindr, opening an already read message, waiting for the ad to start, closing the app, then opening to read an actual unread message.
I’m at the stage where I sacrifice a good chat just to close the app because an ad interrupts the chat. I just don’t care to continue the conversation because…

Distance variable
For rural customer, that could be great to have an option to change the value of the distance calculated by the distance to do by the road (like with maps the Google) and not by the geographic distance.
