I've turned off Explore so people can't see me if I'm not near, yet I still keep getting random spam messages when I open the app. The spammers can obviously see that I have just come online which is a clear privacy breach that must be fixed!!!!!!!
And yes I do report the accounts but they NEVER get deleted so Grindr doesn't give a shit, they just want our money.

it's true that scruff doesn't have it nearly as bad, as grindR, with its spam situation;
but, in the nearly 15 years i've been on scruff, i've only managed to hook up with maybe 9 guys

Grindr is a money hungry greedy fraud of an app. It needs taken down from the Apple App Store. Grindr and its employees I think are behind all the spam and bots. I just looked earlier and every profile I have reported as spam and block has not been removed from the app

i know, the suggestion i am about to tell ya, isn't much better than a small band-aid, placed on a large, gaping, machete wound

..we still can disable the notifications, and / or notification alerts, we receive for taps

i really don't understand why grindR's leadership finds it so difficult (and so unfathomable) to offer premium-access memberships for a dollar, or $2.50, or $5 a month; or for $10, $25, or $50 a year

(or $8 a year / 75¢ a month, just to never have to deal with any advertising again)

I get on Grindr to see if there are any good-looking guys nearby. All the good-looking guys are spammers pushing their X accounts, their Snap likes/follows, or their Only Fans ("OF"). Everyone else is a faceless torso or picture-less profile. There are also MORE profiles (also spammers) of WOMEN holding their asses up in the air or showing their boobs than there are any men. Is this a women's app now? I thought it was for gay men. Truly more and more disappointing every day since the first disappointing day I tried the app years and years ago when it first started getting popular. I've grown to HATE this app at its core.

I've actually recently cancelled my Xtra subscription renewal because of this issue.

I'm still getting tapped by spam accounts that I've already previously reported. And when I try to report them again, I'm giving the response that there's still a pending report.

Why is Grindr doing nothing about this? 90% of the taps I get are spam, and a decent chunk of the profiles on my grid are spam as well. I’ve reported about fifty of them today, but obviously it’s nothing for them to create another account.

Should be easy with today’s AI to spot them. Also need to make account creation slightly more cumbersome

Premium plan is too expansive but the app is more a bug than a really app...

It seems like the app devs don't care or maybe as some suggested they ARE the scambots. Because 24k votes and nothing done about this yet? Simple ID check would cut it by at least 2/3.

As it stands, Grindr is effectively a scam matching service lol. With no sign of changes incoming, I can only assume that's what this company wants. 🤦
