An error occurred while saving the comment Though I think mock locations are good for people living in rural areas, it can be abused by catfish, scammers, spammers, etc. I have experienced this personally. I think restrictions or limits need to be kept in mind... perhaps allow a person only to change locations a couple times a week or increase the number of profiles a free account can look up in a day when doing Explore Searches. An indication that someone is in one's area via Explore the should be added to the person using Explore Searches (similar to the "Joined Recently" notation). Or offer a wider variety of membership packages with certain features varying in these packages, and gear one toward those in rush area. Fake profiles are a HUGE problem in Grindr, a colossal waste of time, and my biggest complaint with this app.

An error occurred while saving the comment In agree with this. I don't think users should be able to turn this feature off entirely because it allows for fake profiles, which I consider Grindr's biggest drawback. Because stalking can also be a problem, perhaps make 5 miles the least distance one can have on the low end of Distance settings... with a notation that 5 miles is an estimate/skewed Distance. The upper end can be set to whatever the user desires.

Requiring people to fill out EVERY blank of a profile OR NOT BE ABLE TO USE GRINDR, and make picking one or a certain number of items in certain categories would help filter out profiles one isn't interested in and help cut down on fake profiles, stalking, etc. It also might be helpful to have Tags for the what describes the user and another for what/who they are seeking would eliminate confusion on what Tags apply to whom (i.e. a Bear Leather Daddy describes the person and he seeks a Trans Femme Twink).
Because I believe NONE of us can truly be free, accepted, and respected until we ALL do the same for other groups/individuals and their rights, I am an advocate for ALL groups... regardleas of whether LGBTQIA, sexuality, sexual identity, race, age, gender, size, type, etc. HOWEVER, I too feel like I spend more time wading through profiles I DON'T have interest in than I do finding ones that am interested in. I do feel lately that Trans profiles dominate the profiles here in Grindr, and often these profiles don't have anything filled out in their profiles, so requiring the above would help eliminate this issue.
