Show "Offline" When a User Explicitly Logs Out
Currently, Grindr continues to display a "Last Seen" timestamp even after a user has intentionally logged out of the application.
This can be misleading. When someone sees "Last seen 15 minutes ago" or "Last seen 30 minutes ago," they may assume the user is still casually checking the app and choosing not to respond. In reality, the user may have logged out completely and may not receive messages or notifications until they log in again.
I suggest distinguishing between inactivity and an intentional logout:
- If the app is inactive in the background, continue showing "Last Seen."
- If the user explicitly logs out, display "Offline" instead of a recent "Last Seen" timestamp.
This would provide more accurate information about user availability and help avoid misunderstandings where others perceive a lack of response as disinterest or arrogance when the user is simply not using the app.
Thank you for considering this improvement.
